Apple Fan Puzzle

it is with great shame that I must admit I am stuck.... I can't get past the puzzle with the apple and the giant fan in Level 5, and eventually gave in and looked up a walkthrough. however, the videos I found on youtube must be from an older version of the game since there is now I bottomless hole on one side of the room and the ramp is now two separate staircases, so I cannot use the strategy shown in the walkthrough

is there some simple answer I'm missing here??

just go up stair and make your perspective sees like apple on the button and click apple!

I'll do you one better. I used the small "T"s that pop out from the fire alarm to eventually randomly pop all the way over to the button to solve it. I knew for sure that wasn't it, but I was being dumb. :-D

that's how I did it, I thought that was the intended way lol

This was like the hardest puzzle in the game with the most simplest solution ever. I got stuck here for a while too!
