raid help? (quest spoilers)

just got the quest for the fexel where you need to help them take out another village. the fexel are VERY outnumbered and outgunned, as they only just took back their capitol, their only village. the enemy are the krockers, and a very strong village of them at that. i tried giving the fexel an efficiency plan, and giving the krockers an inefficiency plan as well as a poisoned meat platter, but the fight was still woefully far from being won, even with them both at level B, and me tossing explosions everywhere before summoning the fexel.

i hate this cuz the krockers are actually my fave race but... what else can i do to turn the tides? and which bar on the village totem pole is the one that represents what they have- the red or the blue part? (it's the red part i think, after giving them a ton of food)

i wound up just whittling them down with raids from another species. don't know if the craftable 'rumor' things actually helped at all.

all the resources i pour into a village trying to get it to upgrade seem wasted.

so i've finished the game now and as far as i can tell, upgrading a village is only good for getting new items from the trader, and making it more resistant to attacks itself. raids are completely separate and spawn new npcs rather than pulling from nearby villages.

Any other advice for beating the raid quest? I am also stuck.
