Yeah they thought they were clever
Or you could just awnser the question with a yes or a no.
The QOL changes have been HUGE. The fov and camera changes alone are a life changer
The graphics have been improved much imo despite what comparison pics/vids show, you gotta be in game to really feel it and it does support nvidia filters to improve it a lot more or fine tune it if you want.
The camera has been greatly improved including a wide selection of options such as camera height, distance, turn speed, follow delay setting, and field of view.
Region levels have been sort of "unlocked" so that side exploration doesn't feel as "punished" as in the original where it locked the zone's combat/loot level when you entered. Now you can enter a place, get a quest, go do it, level up, come back and find enemies and loot that also leveled so you don't feel like you have to complete an area when you get there out of fear of coming back over leveled. The power fantasy of over leveling is still there but each region now has a level range instead of a single level when you entered it.
If you have the original (and its dlc) and think "I don't want to buy a game update that can be done to the original with mods" then don't bother and save your money but if you're on the fence about it then just wait for the expansion to come out and see if it interests you as the dlc is probably the main reason people bought this update.
Speaking of the expansion, they've stated that they have gone full time into work on the future release and plan to include bug fixes and quality of life in the future as they don't want to work on two versions of the game to have fixed something now only to break it again in the future.
Regardless, as much as I like the game I'd say get it on sale.
TLDR - improved visuals and camera, dynamic region combat/loot level, new expansion coming in future and updates after that.
I have 267 hours in the original and 163 hours in the re-release, and while I did experience a few bugs or issues in the original, it was nowhere even close to what I encountered in the re-release.
As far as I could tell, basically every bug or issue in the original game is still present in the re-release and then plus some, especially if you include the countless model and rendering glitches.
