Despite clearly being designed for consoles, Amalur (especially the Remaster) still managed to captivate me for 165 hours. The story is nothing to write home about, but the side-content especially, ranged from good to excellent.

Different playstyles through a combination of your skill-trees and weaponry, hundreds of dungeons and even some dialogue choices to steer quest outcomes in a desired direction.

Amalur is a big world, divided into hubs - but none of these areas felt cramped or overly-streamlined: The game always gave opportunity to explore and uncover secrets, or hidden sidequests.

I haven't finished the last DLC, because it begins after the grand finale and I felt at that point I had my fill.

Maybe I will return one day to finish the new DLC, which looks promising from what I've played.

Amalur is a very accessible action-rpg and defies the flat- and shallowness that usually comes with that genre with hundreds of sidequests, optional locations and a above average main storyline that spans two continents.

Is it the best game you'll ever play? No. However if you enjoy good world-building and are looking for some good ol' rpg fun then this might be the game you're looking for. Despite it's flaws I always enjoy myself when playing this game.
This game is for the lore nerds and those of us who enjoy endless tasks and repeating quests.

I love this game, I played the original one for probably 400+ hours. But this remastered is just ♥♥♥♥. Devs, you should be ashamed of yourselves. After cca 27 hours into a new playthrough, the game suddenly can't read my save files and now I can't continue playing it. FIX THIS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Edit: I managed to fix it:
1. Turn off Steam Cloud Sync
2. Find the userdata\player id\1041720 folder and delete it (make a backup copy just in case)
3. Turn on Steam Cloud Sync and let it recreate the 1041720 folder
4. Turn on the game again so it syncs the save files
I had to do this 2 times before it worked. There's also a few bugs still present in the game. I stand by what I said though, developers of this remaster should be ashamed of themselves for not fixing basic stuff.
