Strange effect in combat
At some point in combat I get gold from attacks and I can't find out what causes it (it is not a weapon upgrade nor a status effect).
Not complaining by any means, but this is odd.

Well the skill is a bit more than that. Beside for the gold trigger it also got passive +15% physical dmg and 1% chance to steal health.

Geez, as if gold wasn't easy enough to get already.

Thank you for the answer.
I use the 6th tier finesse/might (Blademaster) destiny and thought that the bonus gold would appear as loot.

This is a joke, right?
They nerfed Detect Hidden's gold bonus into the ground, and made it almost never proc.
Gold is so hard to get in this game it's not even funny.

Yeah, you might be able to get 100K, but getting any more is a miracle.

Just wait till you get a bit up in the lvls. I'm getting around 50-600k every 20 min as I move back to empty my bags for white and unique items (i salvage the uncommon and rare gear).

I'm currently sitting on 10 million and rising without a problem. And I have even been scrapping common gear for 40 hours.

So gold become really easy to get once you hit mid game.

I'm almost at level 20, and going through the part of the quest to defeat a sorceror and all his minions on his private island because he stole stuff from the vaults. I can't remember all the details.
Money does not spawn as often as you claim.
Yeah, unique weapons sell for stupid amounts of money, but they're rare.

Important stuff sold by merchants like skill training and backpack upgrades don't change over time and are extremely expensive at the start of the game but most sources of money increase as you play the game. So while that 10,000 gold backpack may be expensive at the start, you're also only selling trash for like 100 and getting 1000 from quests. As you go on you'll start selling trash for 1,000 or getting 10,000 gold from quests and the purple weapons will start selling for 50 or even 100,000. If you get to the point in the game where you actually get the cut throat perk then you most likely do not care about gold at that point.

Sounds like you're just not selling enough stuff or needlessly buying stuff from merchants. No reason to carry around all those weapons you're never going to use, the only things I keep are armor sets.

Er. Is this a joke?
I've literally always sold every piece of crap I get. Without fail.

You try to buy some of those 500+K Gold items in shops and tell me how to get that much even at Level 20.

Don't claim I'm doing things wrong here.
WHy would I buy anything from merchants WHEN I LITERALLY Can't AFFORD THE ITEMS THEY SELL.

Yes, I can sell Purple Weapons for stupid amounts of money, but that's barely enough because of how uncommon purples are.

I don't know why people are ignoring how hard it is to get money in this game without having absurd luck.
I would love to upgrade my gear, but shops and blacksmithing is the only way to do that, and at the moment, I can't get enough money to buy anything from shops.

I'd love to get money for my stuff I find.

I know at one point the mining place in the desert is supposed to give you resources, and not just money.

Money is just so damn hard to get in this game since they nerfed Detect Hidden into the damn ground in a way that is flat out insulting.

I do get nice money occasionally from quests, but it is non-existent compared to how badly this game makes items in shops cost.

Davidb11 Gold isn't hard to gain. It might be a but slow at the start of the game, but you quickly gain more gold then you should normally spend.

Now if you do waste your gold on the gear from shops then it's understanding you have a gold problem. Usual you shouldn't need to buy any gear as the unique/set items you get from doing quest and looting should make you powerful. And even then just gear with 2-3 sockets are powerful.

In my playthrough I was literal running around with around 600k at lvl 20 and that was even after I had just visited all skill trainers I could (all the 0-3 and 4-6).

Why bother buying items in the shop when you can just get stuff as loot?

If that is how you want to play then that's fine I'm glad you feel that gold has great value and seems that you are satisfied spending it on loot but for most people it piles up into the millions with nothing to spend it on.

Increase your Mercantile skill so you can buy items for less gold, and sell your items for more.

Detect hidden at level 2 reveals a lot of hidden "treasure" you can loot, at level 5 you can enter some hidden areas for some extra chests or shortcuts.

With only 3 points in Alchemy you can use 3 reagents, at level 5 you can use 4 reagents to create potions which you can sell.

Sagecrafting increases your chance to get shards as loot. At level 3 you can combine them to create stronger shards which can be used to create stronger gems. At level 6 you can use the strongest shards (pristine) to create powerful and expensive gems.

I got around 5 million before arriving at Mel Senshir, and I kept every armor set, shard AND alchemy reagent (in case I need them later, I am a pack rat). :lunar2019grinningpig:

I ended the game with something like 15 million gold and spent it liberally (though mainly on consumables) throughout the playthrough. Gold is absurdly easy to get. If you're having gold problems, then it's something you're doing/not doing that's causing the problem.

Are you taking the Mercantile skill tiers? If I remember correctly, each point in the skill increases sell value by 15% of the base amount, resulting in something like 2.5x sell amount at rank 10, and reduces the purchase value of items by 5% of the base amount, resulting in something like 50% purchase price at rank 10. That puts your overall gold efficiency at 5x the baseline. The exact numbers could be off; I'm just going by memory of when I tested the exact values, but the bonuses are extremely significant either way. Detect Hidden's gold bonus is no longer even remotely the go-to way to make gold. If you want to spend gold at vendors as frequently as you seem to, then you need Mercantile.

Alright. Everyone. I see I made some mistakes in what I was saying.
Sorry about that.

I got some good advice now.
