Special Delivery Chest
So I have this Delivery Chest at the very beginning of the game and there are a lot of Items in it, more than my inventory has place btw.
So the question is, do the items stay there forever and should I even use them?

they stay there forever, so take what you want to use and sell the rest (though some are worth 0 gold) it's a good way of getting a bit of starting capital

Also the community manager and others have hinted that you should wait to OPEN the chest until you are the max level for that zone so that the items in there scale to that level instead of level one. In the end tho you will eventually find better gear than whats in that box.

Wait, what, really?!

You mean I basically botched my save by opening it at level two, and the items will now remain at that level for all eternity?

...

Well...

Damn.

Yea, I did the same. :cfacepalm:

But the max level they could be is 15 I think, and you get so much loot in this

game you're not really missing out on much.

Here is the thread with the mod going into more detail about it.

I mean, eventually you will need to replace them anyways, might as well use them at the start and have proper weapons instead of some white rarity tutorial stuff

You'll outlevel them whenever, and if you wait too long, you'll be crafting better stuff anyway.

This. Nothing in the chest are close to endgame stuff. Just use it to get an head-start.

The Special Delivery chest stuff isn't scaling as the community manager expected it would, anyway, likely due to how it works so differently from other chests. Most chests were purportedly updated to scale to your level when you open them, but the Special Delivery chest actually scales to your level when you receive the quest en route to Gorhart for the first time (when you are inevitably still level 1).

Unless they decide to change this in a patch (or already have when I wasn't looking), you're only missing out on the gear entirely if you wait until a higher level to grab them, as they'll remain level 1.

Ah, thanks for that elaboration.

There are also a couple of items, the dowsing rod and the compass, that add a point to your skills for just having them in your inventory.

Just grab it and be done with it. There are a ton of items in future chests that will put those special delivery items to shame. Those items doesnt level if you decide to sit on it, and I ignore the first town and went freedom trek, and came back when I was level 20 and those items are still level 1.
