Section to section snap won't work
In the tutorials, different sections can snap together, and do. In real life they just simply do not do that. This is even true of duplicated sections that are rotated the same way. Sections never snap together like they do in the tutorials. Even the tee section and the hole section won't snap together when I start a new hole, even when I have both sections snapping to grid. I can't figure out why.

Hey there,

Have you tried pressing the "G" key to make sure all of the green section points are aligned to the grid before trying to snap them together? Currently the green section snapping requires the points to be overlapping very precisely. So it can look like they are overlapping, but can be a tiny bit off if they were ever moved without position snapping enabled.

I just tried that with identical "Rectangle01"s with position snapping enabled and snap to surface enabled. No snapping. Certainly not what happens in the tutorial.

Because of this, there are always little glitches in my creations where sections come together. I have been able to minimize them with careful (and time consuming) editing, but they never go away completely.

Hmm, that is very strange. Does snapping work when you create a brand new course?

Yes! I just tried that and it worked. This did not happen before.

Ok, so it seems like there could be something about the specific course you were editing that is preventing the snapping from working. Perhaps some error that is happening.

To help me determine the issue, could you send your game logs and the course you were editing (where the snapping is not working) to support@roadturtlegames.com.

The game logs are located in Documents\My Games\MiniGolf Maker\Logs. Just send all of them and I will look through them for errors.

Courses are located in Documents\My Games\MiniGolf Maker\Courses. This folder contains a folder for each course you have saved. The folder names are basically gibberish, so depending on how many courses you have saved it may be difficult to determine which folder matches the course you were editing. You can either go through each folder and use something like the save_thumbnail.jpg image to identify the course, or you can just send me the entire contents of the Courses folder and tell me the name of the course.

Thanks! I am going to do that. There is something VERY WEIRD going on with snap. Best I can describe it is that once you lose that ability (which is critical for complicated courses) it is ***GONE***, and there is nothing you can do to get it back except start a new course, where it will work until it suddenly, unexpectedly just simply WON'T.

I thought I found a workaround for this problem. Clever me. I did 18 holes, with the tee and hole snapped together, then I would copy it, then go on to the next hole until I got all 18 done. Each hole had tee and hole snapped together and the copy beside it. When making the hole I would copy the copy, then work from those copies, leaving the original copy alone. When done, I would snap in the hole section and the tee section.

This worked like a charm until hole #5. Snap worked for about 10 sections, then stopped working. I exited to main menu without saving anything, then went back. Snap would not work at all, even on hole #6. I quit the game without saving it, then went back. Snap still would not work. I then REBOOTED MY MACHINE after quitting without saving, and EVEN THEN snap would not work!
