cash flow
So I'm looking at some very expensive purchases in the game (7,000 for a measly 10 inventory slots, 270,000 to train all nine skills in the first tier - which, from what I've read is supposed to be doable.

At level nine, just getting into the sidhe area and I've barely got enough to train 2 skills, three if I sell some big ticket items; does the money drastically improve any time soon?

On a related note. Are any of Sagecraft, Blacksmithing, or Alchemy money makers? Or should I boost Mercantile first if I'm concerned with cash?

Higher lvl enemies drop more money and aside from the things you mentioned there is not really anything to use it for because vendor gear is trash. I'm currently lvl30-35 and I have over 1mil + dozens of useless purple items which would give me propably over 400k if I sold them.

Crafting is not good for making money, but sagecrafting is the most useful skill in the game. Blacksmithing is also ok although it's quite hard to find good parts for new gear. Alchemy and mercantile are completely useless, don't put any points in them.

in my playthrough it really started to change when i was around level 10-12. The set/purple items you find start to sell for quite a lot and even white gear is up to 1k gold each.

You can use sagecrafting to make money if you have shard types that you absolutly dont need. (gems sell for several thousand and epic gems for over 10k). But since specific shards are rare, make sure you dont sell any you need.

Also skills like lock picking are not even worth the cash

mercantile is good if you have a few points in it..for junking stuff, when you can't get back to a town or city. High enough points in mercantile, ensure you get money back from destroying items in your junk pile. So not completely useless if you invest a few points.

what you do is later on respec at a fateweaver. then don't put any points in anything go visit all the trainer for first tier skills get all of those skills then level up and put points in skills to 4 points then go visit the tier 2 skill trainer get your points there and so on. trainer points don't reset on respecs.at level 21 i have 700000 gold a house with all upgrades and a chest full of yellow junk i could sell but i have nothing to spend gold on. black smithing is your friend with that you will end up making better gear then what you can buy from the vendors.

by the end of the base game you CAN have all skills maxxed out but you have to do every side quest, faction quest, and everything optional thing possible to get exp points

More threadcromancy from the bean here, since I am apparently the last person to play KOA ever... but since i saw that gropax was online i figured I would give it a shot.

So I can just go to a fateweaver at any level, respec, and be able to pick up ALL trainers (meaning trainers dont have character level requirements, just skill level reqs?

you can respec your character whenever you like thus making you able to max all your skills

don't worry about money, it will start flowing, just be patient, I'm salvaging everything I can and only selling the potions, purple and yellow items and I have so much money i can't spend it :D

sagecrafting is a good way of making money, put in 8 points and you are good to go, google what kind of gems worth the most and craft-sell them

detect hidden and merchantile are good for beginning. but don't worry about money that much. because you can find very very good items from chests, events, monsters and stealing. you rarely need to buy good items from shop except some lockpicks, gems, and craft components.

Detect is good for the entire game but I wouldn't invest in Mercantile (unless you want to destroy stuff and cut down on trips back to town). Money is not really a problem in this game.

running out of storage is the biggest problem of the game,by time you can exploit the mel senshir bug your 3/4 done the game and it's too late.

You can get the extra backpacks, or just pick one random Merchant
(mine was in Webwood in some house, and I sold all unnecessery items to her, but I could have bought them back when ever I wanted if I ever needed them), bcs in the "late game" it doesnt even matter what you do with your items anyway.
There is no trading of any kind on line.
But yea, there should be more slots to start with, bcs looting is so slow when you have full inventory...

i bet it could be hacked, if you dropped all your inventory stand infront of a merchant that sells backpacks save the game then buy the backpack and save the game then rip the save files apart and compare them to see exactly what changed in the file to increase storage

Honestly. the game is pretty easy. I have 200,000+K and the only thing i buy are minor health and minor health regen potions. Also bags when I see them. You get plenty of gear as drops, so everythign else is pretty pointless. I'm around level 20 so far. I've only put points into sorcery so far.

For me the best skill investments are Alchemy - as there is no limit to the number of plants you can harvest and recipes are cheap, so once you have them you never need to buy. Detect - will allow you to harvest more free items find and disable traps etc. Sagecraft - you can upgrade gems easily and and socket them into equipment appropriate to your character or play style. Mercantile - because I cant be bothered to use dealers that much the further I get into the game (although mercantile upgrades get you better prices) and you get plenty of cash just for destroying your junk items.
