Unrailed!

If there was an Unrailed 2 (suggestions for changes/improvements)
I've spent a good amount of time in Unrailed, and I must say that I like the experience a lot! I don't imagine that these changes would be possible to implement into the base game, so these are just things I think I'd like to see in a potential sequel.

General Wagon Improvements

The Milk wagon, in my opinion, requires too much management to make it worth it. The benefit is great, but animals are constantly slipping off, and having more than one animal on can make accessing the milk wagon rather annoying. My personally suggestion to make the milk wagon more potent (imo) would be to allow the animals to be stacked inside of the wagon itself. With the amount of times you upgrade the wagon to also increase how many animals you can carry at any time inside the wagon. I would like to suggest that stacking the same animal type does not just increase the speed of the charge, but also the duration/power of the effects one gives. To balance this, either the milk wagon could fill up more slowly, or the benefits you would get could be nerfed in some way. Making it so having say, 4 cows is its own strategy vs having all 4 animal types.

Which speaking of, I find that the Walrus's ability only being useful in the snow biome to be somewhat lame considering every other animal has its own benefit. While it is true that the "moon dust" could be cleared as well, it's not very difficult to get around it, making its benefit only useful in an isolated incident. But that's about all I have to say about the milk wagon.

The Compass Wagon is a little bit of a meme, I think. Anyone who is playing the game seriously generally avoid this thing. I see people talking about picking it purely as a goof, and I think that's a bit of a shame because I think the idea of it could potentially be cool. I think something that could make it more useful (in my mind) is if instead of just having some arrow pointing you in the direction of where the station was, what if it helped illuminate paths that you could travel? Or the most potential efficient way forward, depending on the upgrade? This might not be as useful in easy, but I think its use becomes more apparent in the extreme difficulty. It could illuminate potential paths to take since sometimes you have to build two paths. One for the train and one for the players.

Automatic Miner sounds useful on paper, but I feel like the fact that it doesn't have much range outside of just immediately on its sides makes it feel like you have to force situations for it to be useful. I think it would be nice if it at least went forward a bit. I'd much rather it have a proper radius as opposed to some narrow line. If the range has to be nerfed to compensate, I would prefer that. I find that what the automatic Miner wants to do can be done better by the TNT. Whether this is a "TNT is too good" or not is up to you to decide, but I think it's just that the miner isn't quite as useful.

Automatic Gathering is actually pretty great, though I think if I had only one thing I know I'd like to see, it would be that it restocks more than just wagon. Have it prioritize the rails first, yes, but I would love if it could restock the rest of the wagon. Imagine if the automatic gathering wagon could restock the TNT, or even the automatic miner?? I think that would make it powerful. If it burned through wood to compensate I think that would be awesome. That could just be me wanting too many conveniences though.

The rest of the carts I believe are fine though. I have no issue with anything else. The light is very useful, but I feel like it's main use is still only in the winter area, otherwise I don't get much use out of it, but I can see where people find it useful so I don't have much issue with it.

General Gameplay changes

More Biome variation within the one biome you're in. I'm not talking weather effects but rather different visual things to come across. Maybe you're in the regular plains, but what if there were random dead spots of grass? Or maybe there's a small tunnel you have tunnel to dig through? Something like that for each biome would be pretty great. I'm sure other people smarter or more creative than me could come up with something each time. Like what if the desert was maybe an ocean with little islands you had to build bridges to?

Like I said, people far more creative than me could probably come up with something cooler than I. Maybe this just sounds more fun to me because I'd love to see more complexities, but I think hills in general would be a neat addition. Going up a hill could slow the train down temporarily, but maybe going down a hill it would pick up speed and carry a little bit of momentum. Possibly to keep the variety up.

My last thought would be to consider the possibility of being able to have and keep fully upgraded wagons, even if you swap out, but you still have to pay a considerable fee to swap them in. My idea with this is that you could change your train often to try to fit what you think might happen in your area. As it is right now, I find myself preferring to sticking to one "dominant strategy" which is two TNT carts and some chargers when I get them. It basically completely destroys the game. The only time I ever stray is when it comes to the snow biome, which is where I bring in the light and then remove it as soon as I leave. A bit boring, if you ask me.

This is something I know most people would ask for already, but "more biomes" and mod support would be pretty nice. This game could really benefit from having mod support to keep the experience fresh and interesting for those who wish to get more.

Closing Thoughts

I just like this game and would love to see another with more to it. This game is fun, and I have a feeling I'd enjoy a sequel with more features. I know that's kind of plain to say, since most people would, but if you read all I had to say, I greatly appreciate it.
