Crossplay with Steam and Nintendo Switch

I'm on PC and my nephew is on the switch, if I buy this for him on the switch could we play online together?

You can most definitely Cross-Play between your purchased copy on Steam, your nephew on the Nintendo Switch and even a niece of PlayStation. Cross-Play will hopefully come to the XBOX soon however it has been stuck in Microsoft's certification process for a while.
