Unrailed!

***DECREPIT*** YES, single-player IS available. Here is how to enable it
EDIT: This is now decrepit. Single-player is already built into the latest version of Unrailed!.

Go into the game Properties (right-click Unrailed! in your Steam library) and enter this beta code to activate it:
F9LLREbgTxg635NC

Note that beta mode is unstable and may cause the game to occasionally glitch significantly (drop FPS to zero) or completely freeze, forcing your long roguelike run to suddenly end! But the devs are working on it!

Press number keys to control the bot.
  1. mine for iron*
  2. chop for wood*
  3. lay down tracks**
  4. fill the bucket if empty, and put out all fires
  5. get and place dynamite in the most efficient resource-extracting tile, or rearm the wagon
  6. go pick up a bolt on the map if there is a clear path to it
  7. supply-run: restock all wagons continuously, and bring excess tracks to wherever the front of the railroad track currently is (warning: when used for a long period of time, this may cause tracks to be left behind if you're not careful about further bringing spare tracks forward!)
  8. build a bridge**
* Use the drawing tool to draw a path using Q, M, or left-click for the desired location. You may place up to four segments. The bot understands straight lines best.
** The drawing tool is mandatory for this operation.

In my experience when I last used it:

  • The bot will bring items-that-are-about-to-go-off-screen to the front only when they are actually about to disappear off of the edge of the monitor, not when the yellow triangle flashes.
  • The bot is generally most effective doing supply runs and using dynamite.
  • The bot did not understand how to operate the bucket in the penultimate biome.
  • If it is about to perform an action, and something changes and you want it to recognize the change (without the line-drawing tool), you have to re-press the corresponding command key. For example, if you have it set to lay down dynamite and it's on its way, but then you harvest one more block and want it to set dynamite that one tile further in a passageway, you have to re-press 5 to make it recalculate its dynamite spot.

Thanks for the info will try this now

The latest version seems to have significantly worsened; I just tried it today and the bot is now completely incapable of doing anything with the bucket. It also no longer rearms dynamite wagons when conducting supply runs. I basically can't play with it on any serious level any more for as long as these issues are present.

I hope they change this from the sounds of it I can see this being a problem when u reach hell and space i hope they give the bots some intelligence I can see it being hard to baby sit the bots while trying to keep an eye on train and everything else on map in the harder levels.

It's been significantly improved. It now brings the bucket up to the front of the tracks and it correctly fills at lava vents.

Did you see the game's latest updates? The single-player bot became official and has been drastically improved since my old post here.

So I'm not sure what this "drawing tool" means. I'm on a logitech controller and I can't see any way to direct my bot to a specific place to work. The mouse dosn't do it either.

You have to click first to activate the mouse, then click again for points. Try it with keyboard & mouse. If the mouse is not working at all even if you're playing on a keyboard then something's seriously wrong.
