Dyes are pointless
All the good looking costumes, or at the very least, the character-based costumes cannot be dyed.

From what I found, very few costumes can actually be dyed to begin with-- why even implement a dye feature if costumes like Lizbeth's, Sinon's, and Alice's costumes can't be dyed?

Do they expect people to wear the beginner clothes or Academy Uniforms in different colors?

Yes, CUBE dyes need to be removed or changed so anything can be dyed
instead of just Kirito-only outfits.

Also, they need to make it so anyone can wear "Character (Prize)" outfit instead of
just that character and Kirito.

I'd love to have Sinon wear Leafa's Prize outfit, but nope. :/
It's whatever though.

Dyes are a scam to fill up cube. You can see this in SAO shop where they started selling recolours of some sword punk stuff all ready for coins only (no tickets accepted and not in cube).

The whole point of the dyes is to literally create ♥♥♥♥ rolls in the cube. The dyes serve no other purpose than to crap some useless garbage into a cube to make it harder to get the other stuff. If they made all costumes regardless of what they are dyeable than it would be a different story. However, only the most basic costumes can be changed. It does not help that some of the legendary costumes are getting seperate color versions in the SAO shop which makes the dyes even more useless than ever.
