It's likely that they realized that publishing the full uncensored version on Steam, only to get it region-locked in many countries, wasn't really the best idea, which is why they pulled the adult version from Steam, and decided to re-release the game censored with likely a free uncut patch.

It was their own choice.....whatever, it still doesnt explain why the removed the 18+ game

It seems that even they though that region-locking the game wasn't really the best idea in any way, which was probably why its sales were heavily hurt. I'm not surprised that they somehow decided to do a full 180° and pull the plug on the adult version of this game, but also on another game they also region-locked themselves, Devil in the Details.

The adult version you are referring to has already been released on Steam, unfortunately due to its content it was neccessary to restrict its visibility in some regions, this was not something we wanted to do but as a limited company that has many people rely on us and as per our steam agreement we had to do it, also sadly some countries were restricted by their request not ours. Which is sadly the cost when you get so much publicity on release.

This version is the standard edition of the game, it has taken us a long time to adjust the content to make it suitable for all regions, essentially censoring or removing content, we knew it would be difficult to do this as it would require re-writes and lots of adjustments which is why we couldnt simply release this version at the same time.

But the latest build has now been accepted by Steam and so this will release on February 8th 2019. Available to all regions.

Missing content will likely be available via a patch on our website at release.

The Devs will Supply a Patch on the main site it will contain rest of the Adult version

I remember you said Germany had filed a complaint, but what about other countries? I don't really have a problem if you just decided to play it safe, especially since this release clearly indicates you've been busy solving the issue, but had all the other countries, particularly Russia which I'm from, also explicitly requested game's removal? This is not an idle curiosity, as so far I've been unaware of any real attempts to ban games in my country (other than blocking hentai galleries) despite following the developments of censorship, and would really like to know if things are changing for the worse now.

Ok this explains why this version exists then. I just finished buying the one that says adult version and I see this one here. Glad you guys are still keeping the adult version with no patch needed on here.

Same here as I just bought the one that says adult version. I don't mind if a game has an adult version and censored available. As long as both version are made available.
