WITH TURRET AND CUBES AND STUFF
@Reiman : Well I don't remember exactly all the circuitry I used in this maps, but I suppose the "tilting" platform you talk about is an "instant pulse generator" (don't know if there is any other official name for it), and all the lasers with the platforms are here to activate exactly the 2 vertical funnels needed for the slinky ^^ I think I added your map to the list a moment ago, maybe I will play it this week... Maybe not X)
@nyanimefool : If you talk about the really first button, I don't exactly remember what it activates so I don't know if I could make it as a "on/off" button... Anyway if you want to freeze the slinky at any time, you just have to remove the cubes from the funnels ^^ The slinky will stop and restart working as soon as you place a cube back in the funnel ;)
I have used lasers with tilting platforms in my " PortCalc ". Would be nice, if you visit/comment this map. As I see, you are a big fan of switches and logic gates as well, you may have great fun there! Without help and knowing there are such gates already, I built a counter, based on flip-flops, with a binary/dezimal- and a dezimal/7segment-interface (to repair).
when you played my 1st map, you suggested I update it.
as you thought the begining was to brutal.
it has taken me a while, but I have just done a MAJOR update on it.
if it does not seem any different, you may have to re-start portal,
to get the updated version.
hope you enjoy.

But as I said before, it may never break if you use only one object in it and not 3 ^^ Because with more than one objects, some cubes have chances to be pushed by the other out of the funnels, and this is the main cause of auto-break for the slinky ;)
I only fixed what was breaking, without me doing anything to cause it.
I think it is the corners on the cubes, making them move in unpredictable ways.
this is why I suggest using safety spheres, instead of cubes.
(just a theory)
to prove it breaks by itself, play it & leave it & get something to eat or whatever.
when you come back, it will probably be brocken.
however, the time till it breaks, is also a variable.
Also if you remove all the objects of the funnel before they cut the laser, the funnels will stop here until you place the object in again ^^
- The moving platforms start desactivated.
- When an object in the funnel cut the laser they are activated.
- This will cause the funnels to switch to the next position.
- When the object stop cutting the laser, the platforms will stop.
- Loop ^^
got a sphere & got it working with 3 original cubes & the sphere.
worked for a few mins, before I got fed up, waiting for it to break & exited.
I wounder if it would stop breaking with only sphere cubes.
& how many it could take, without breaking.
without corners, they might work, without breaking ?
could you add more safety spheres, to test please ?
so many machanisms, I could not get my head around it.
but when I went back to the tractor beams,
the cubes were lying on the floor & nothing was working.
I stacked 2 onto the third, which was being hit by the laser.
then lifted all 3, till the laser was no longer blocked by the cube.
every thing started working then, so I let go of the cubes, fixed.
I did put the turret in to play with the cubes & bouncy gel,
as you thought someone would.
One time it has self broken when a cube escaped the funnel and cut the laser.
@borealis117 : Will add your map to the list and play it the next time I open the game ^^
Very clever, Your map making skills are beyond that of a mere mortal Sir.
This is a map I made and would appriciate some feedback on from One as skilled as yourself.
