Excellent! One of the best turret puzzles I have seen.

Cool chamber - I love it Very clever use of blue gel.

I learned a lot from this one. Had fun killing turrets. They were a hard bunch to get to. I read the other comments and I agree. Great first map. Good use of elements. Good design of the chamber. Good level of difficulty. Thanks for the entertainment and I'll see ya round the workshop.

Ah, thanks for the walkthroughs. Yes, it seems mine was a bit of a hybrid of the two (only with more dying) :)
Clever, challenging, fun. Thanks!

@Mitch, it sounds like you found the "ninja" way, similar to Prototype's playthrough:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJzetHofZts

My intended solution was this:

Maybe you could say one is more clever and one is more fun/funny...?

Thanks for the feedback!

Good one. I doubt I completed it correctly but it worked so I went with it. I got the first turret with a blue bomb, but then I wasn't sure how to get the other two. But then I tried this, and I did take a screenshot but my Steam isn't allowing me to upload it, SO:

portal in ceiling on far side, another portal near laser emitte, used laser cube to aim in just the right way to burn those two turrets down there. Does that make sense? It was tedious but it's all I could come up with!

Was I even close? I just assume I was supposed to get really creative with the blue gel or something.
Fun, thanks!

This is a great chamber. I loved the final solution. Very inventive. Thumbs up.

ps. I just subscribed to your other map & was very surprised that you only made 2.
after playing this map, I thought you were a seasoned map builder.
for a 1st map, this is amazing :)
well done.

good map
good use of gel :)
I took out the 3 turrets guarding the exit with the gel off the faithplate,
in the area, where the laser emitter is, on1st attempt using this method.
took out other turrets with laser & funel.

this map got me thinking :)
did not use the panels, as wanted to leave a portal for gel.
good fun

Just looked at the comments, SkyRoots already found this exploit ^^
Geneosis Jul 23, 2013 @ 10:17am
So I completed it the expected way, then I noticed that those surfaces could be used tirectly to burn the turrets protecting the exit ^^ Nice little puzzle anyway ;)
Shutterbug Jul 22, 2013 @ 4:40pm
Nice map, I enjoyed doing that. Took me sometime to figure out how to get rid of the second lot of turrets though. Thumbs up.
If you would like to look at my first one....

Yep, that was excellent. Needed quite a lot of thought to work out a plan. I was probably lucky with the last 3 turrets as I only had to hit one and it wiped the other two out for me before the goo lake got it :) Thumbs up! Just watched the speed run video below, I'd never have thought of that!!
My last one was http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=141959308 if you want to take a look.

Jade BGE, thanks for your feedback. I'm glad the level was a bit of a challenge. (That was the goal :-)

SkyRoots & Prototype, I just watched your latest YouTube speed run, and I've got to say...

I don't like it.

...

I LOVE it! :-)

No way am I going to "patch that up," unless it turns out that it surpasses the intended puzzle by some crazy margin.
Jade BGE Jul 15, 2013 @ 11:31am
I liked that. I found it very clever indeed. It shouldn't have but it taken me as much time as it did to figure how to get that last turret but it did. Great job. Thanks for your work.
SkyRoots Jul 15, 2013 @ 1:03am
On behalf of my friend Prototype, here is a youtube video of his NEW speedrun through this chamber. I clocked him at about 49 seconds from entrance to exit.

Nice job on the puzzle! The end had me puzzled for a while.
daloboy Jul 14, 2013 @ 2:34pm
Glad to contribute, in the name of Science!
ProfDave3d  [author] Jul 14, 2013 @ 11:48am
Daloboy, I like your method of doing permanent effect. East-West actually does a (less elegant) version by having an unseen cube land on an unseen button, but I think the unseen cube sometimes misses the unseen button.

I'll almost certainly swtich from my way to your way. Thanks!
daloboy Jul 14, 2013 @ 9:53am
And here's another one of mine, if you got the time one day!
daloboy Jul 14, 2013 @ 9:46am
Really nice one...and more so with the update! My solution . As you can see, I did not use the upper button. You could take it out. If not, you could make its effect permanent like this . It's been a while since I saw a puzzle using the gel with the faith plate! Had almost forget about it! And I did not know that the laser was a physical obstacle to the gel! Wow!
DeathWish808 Jul 14, 2013 @ 6:05am
Yeah, no problem. Glad to help. And, yes, what you see is whatever pops in my head at the moment.
ProfDave3d  [author] Jul 14, 2013 @ 1:14am
Updated to remove the most insane of the ninja tricks that could get you through the entire level in 30 seconds.

Thanks to DeathWish808, Prototype and SkyRoots for their testing and demo videos.
ProfDave3d  [author] Jul 13, 2013 @ 10:56pm
Prototype, you're a ninja! Thanks for the demo!

SkyRoots, thanks for converting Prototype's demo!

DeathWish808, thanks for your demo too! Did you really think all that that through in real time?

And, of course I'll check out that "Cohesion" level. I hope it's "hard" like a chess problem and not hard like a platform jumper. Is there a way I can send you a PM?

I should be able to tighten up my East-West level to avoid a few of these non-intended solutions.

Thanks all!

Oh, I'd like to recommend a solid and difficult map if you're up to it.

A lot of time was spent on it despite how simplistic some things may seem.
I'd love to hear your feedback or even see a .dem recording. Thanks!

Hey, nicely fixed! BUT, I think I broke it again... ;-)

I was bored so I recorded my 2nd playthrough. At least it took quite a bit longer this time...

Spoiler video here: http://youtu.be/0oLSbcx5aPc
DeathWish808 Jul 13, 2013 @ 5:28pm
Well, sometimes it does and sometimes people have to unsub and resub to get the updated version. Will check it out soon. I'm not going to do another video, but I will record a dem for you to watch.
ProfDave3d  [author] Jul 13, 2013 @ 5:26pm
Okay. Fixed! Now, let's hope "Subscribe" works the way I think it does, and anyone who has already subscribed gets the update automatically!
ProfDave3d  [author] Jul 13, 2013 @ 2:27pm
DeathWish808, you are awesome! I will fix that immediately! Thanks.
DeathWish808 Jul 13, 2013 @ 12:01pm
OK, you can completely skip the whole puzzle. This 2 minute and change video would have only been about 20 seconds had I known the exit was already open to start with. Patch it up and I'll play again and see if I can break it some more. It's my specialty. :-D.

SkyRoots Jul 13, 2013 @ 11:00am
I understand. I've gone through the exact same process myself. =)
ProfDave3d  [author] Jul 13, 2013 @ 10:50am
Thanks for the feedback. I added the stairs at my friend's request, since he felt that once he had "solved" how to get up on the East platform, he shouldn't have to go through the "solving" steps again each time he wanted to try something up there.

I playtested on him by creating a co-op version of the level so I could watch him play, and I saw that that part frustrated him -- enough that I put in that "fix" for it. But I'll be interested to hear what others think.
SkyRoots Jul 13, 2013 @ 9:53am
That was fun.
However, I found that the two staircases on the right side were completely unnecessary.
