No checkpoints made this a royal hassle.

Very fun. Loved it. I wish someone would make a buddy cop movie with the companion cube and Mark Wahlberg.
Petutski Aug 30, 2014 @ 1:26pm
Ah, my companion until the end. Very nice!
BUG Jun 17, 2014 @ 10:02am
Easy fun,thanks.
daloboy Mar 2, 2014 @ 8:05am
Nice and easy! You made a real good puzzle in the first room. But the next steps were just too easy. A lot of fizzlers on the way, but the cc dropper is out of reach! If you update it, I would be glad to test again. My solution . I found just one bypass with the funnel.
Can you try and comment one of mine ? Thank you.
PsychoBR Jun 16, 2013 @ 12:48pm
Awesome puzzle! Thanks!
Oi, Bruno.
I recorded my gameplay (valve DEM file format): Download [dl.dropboxusercontent.com]. Comments inside video.

Turrets highly explosive. Handle with care

Nice chamber. Though disappointingly simple, it was nice and long. Nice use of puzzle mechanics. Lighting a bit bright in first area (sorry someone prob already mentioned that)
BrunoGottlieb  [author] Feb 23, 2013 @ 6:32am
Thanks for the feedback :) So, after 4 Companion Cube, I made a cooperative chamber :D It's my first Companion Cube Co-op. If you have a friend, you can play this chamber here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=128924403 or check in the collection. It's the same idea, but now with 2 players. Have Fun.

Clever use of only one box. It makes you think about how to keep moving the box with you with a variety of puzzles. Great puzzle, BrunoGottlieb!
davidleonardcook+***** Feb 21, 2013 @ 5:31pm
Very big and satisfying and it was easy enough for me to finish it!
Continuous Cheese Feb 20, 2013 @ 9:37pm
It's a bit too easy.
redunzl_gw Feb 19, 2013 @ 8:31pm
A long string of very easy puzzles. Put together well, but not much of a challenge. Fun for those who don't want to have to think very hard, I suppose.
Mega Munchy Feb 19, 2013 @ 6:52pm
Awesome map
BrunoGottlieb  [author] Feb 19, 2013 @ 5:04pm
Yes, but It would'nt be the same cube. You can't kill the cube, he is your friend :) you can press "F6" for save the game. Thanks for the feedback.
DeadlyKitten Feb 19, 2013 @ 3:56pm
not bad but lost my cube half way in map and had to restart might want to put a cube respawn farther in map.
MartijnH333 Feb 19, 2013 @ 2:06pm
Nice map

Interesting chamber. A long series of relativly simple tests, each tied into the last. I think it was a little claustrophobic in there at times but it still works and it flows well too. Thumbs up.

Would you care to try one of mine?

Never before have I felt so emotionally attached to a cube
Daniel_MFG Feb 19, 2013 @ 9:57am
This is a really good map!
But the next sholdnt so easy.

thx for your work

can someone give me the ship game??
Taco Muffin Feb 18, 2013 @ 5:39pm
I don't really like test chambers of this type because instead of there being focus on a single aspect of the chamber, the focus was spread out and each part of this test chamber individually isn't that great. You can easily get stuck and it isn't much of a brain workout at all. Try to make your chambers simpler. Also try having a friend of family member test it out before publishing it. It'll help you find hidden shortcuts and ways to get stuck so that you can fix them. By doing this you can also see how difficult your chamber is. Keep up the good work though!

Nice level man! Very well put together. One critique though, it is possibly to get yourself stuck a few places. One specifically easy is the pit the three turrets get into. Further, it is possible to actually grab the companion cube from within that pit, causing the hydrolic arms to close the pit, leaving you stuck beneath them unable to move, as you are essentially inside the hydrolic arm!
BrunoGottlieb  [author] Feb 17, 2013 @ 5:58pm
Thanks very much :) please, don't forget to rate the collection or the test chamber "The Companion Cube 4" if you play. It helps me a lot.
mikemoody Feb 17, 2013 @ 5:42pm
Ok nice map... It was a long way to the end, I liked very much... Was not hard but keep me busy. Thanks
Relayer Feb 17, 2013 @ 5:04pm
You need to have places for cubes and balls to respawn if they are dropped/destroyed if not then you can get trapped. Good map though.
Consus Feb 17, 2013 @ 9:08am
jump ´n run^^ funny :D

Great fun this map,so much to do unlike others. well done.
Egglestron Feb 16, 2013 @ 6:51am
Too much trolling... Pressing a button without attention is meaning that you have to restart from the beginning ...
sir chapsley von chapington III Feb 15, 2013 @ 9:13pm
i loved it. maybe it wasn't as mindbending as some custom chambers, but it was still a challenge and it presented a nice story of chell and her companion cube. keep making more!
Almisuifre Feb 15, 2013 @ 3:33pm
Funny and clear.
The turrets stucked me and killed me first. But if the player think to quicksave that's not a problem (I forgot to !)
Perhaps a bit on rails, but I suppose that's the aim !

Try mine if you have time !
DainBramage1991 Feb 15, 2013 @ 2:59pm
Fun and creative!
EnderCorePL Feb 15, 2013 @ 2:35pm
I love it
lhamil64 Feb 15, 2013 @ 12:52pm
It seemed a little too easy, but I did think many of the things were clever.
However there were a few things that just made me think "why have a button that does that instead of just having it on by default?" For example, at the very beginning, why have the emancipation grid at all? It just takes one button press to permanently disable it so why bother with having it there in the first place?
Patcot Feb 15, 2013 @ 11:03am
That was a lot of fun :)
Ravenscaur Feb 15, 2013 @ 8:34am
Have to agree with Jergling: it was easy to get trapped in with the turrets. A single portalable surface, perhaps facing the inside of that area, so as to not be seen unless you were inside, would not disrupt the puzzle.

I like it. The possibility of being reckless and fizzling the companion cube kind of makes you think about your actions before moving foreward. I found the first room to be the most challenging, and it seems to get easier as you move along. The whole thing seems kind of cramped and claustrophobic, though. I can't decide if it's unsettling, or cozy. Either way, thumbs up!
BrunoGottlieb  [author] Feb 15, 2013 @ 7:33am
Thanks for the advice. Yes, but The Companion Cube can not die. He is the essence of the serie. If you prefer, you can press F6 after complete a room. So you will save the game and if you die you can continue without start at the beginning again :)
Jade Emperor XII Feb 15, 2013 @ 7:22am
This is a good map as well. But I think you could do some improvements in here. The part where the Turrets is, you can actually place the goo pool below the Angled panel. They are stackable so not to worry about that. Or you can just place the Gratings pane in front of your turrets to prevent the player to fall into that non-portal surface pit. The turrets will still be able to shoot through the gratings so not to worry about that too.

And I also did found a potential trap that could make you stuck. Given the map's logic, players might focus on moving on to complete the map. But what happens if the Companion got destroyed somehow? How do I get it back? Given the size of your map, sometimes I might accidentally send the companion cube into the fizzler or if it hits any of the angled panels, be it open or close, it will get destroyed too. I don't know why is that so but yeah I did experience this sometimes. Give it some thought.
LeeDavis Feb 15, 2013 @ 2:29am
At first glance I thought to myself, "How did this get in the most popular list?" Then half way through the map..."Yea...this is cool!"
Un-bear-able Feb 15, 2013 @ 1:42am
i think it's pretty nice (not that difficult but nice) thhe only negative thing is that if you die once you have to start the whole level new ! thats just annoying
Jergling Feb 14, 2013 @ 10:52pm
The turret dropper thing can trap the player if you release the button while in the box.
BrunoGottlieb  [author] Feb 14, 2013 @ 5:36pm
Well... I didn't make this chamber to be difficult, the objective was to be fun. But okay, maybe next week I'll create The Companion Cube 4 more challenging :)
