Pros:
• Cute environmental details;

Cons:
• That stationary rock at the end can kill you if you get wedged between it and the rail. Really.

Yaa... the map still has some bugs. For me, I couldn't see some of the custom textures ( probobly snow and ice) in the room as well, the water and some other outside textures. Though skybox was working.
The roof problem is still there, you should put some invisible walls some that the players couldn't jump on the roof or atleast on fences. Oh, and jumping on the falled beam killed me somehow...

The map was easy, I solved it by accident, kinda... There weren't any music or it was glitched.

This map had problems, bugs and glitches. My game even crashed when I firstly launched it. But for first hammer map you can't expect for a master piece. The map would be good if it weren't for the glitches.

hammer is the official source engine level editor. It allows you to make anything compared to the PTI editor. If you would like to learn how to use hammer there are links in my hammer guide to good tutorials

I didn't get the sky texture in the screenshot, I got the leak effect. The puzzle was fairly basic. Also the first time I tried, the panel on the stairs killed me when the stairs moved and it was flung across the room.

Good map, but at first change the texture outside of the dome with something like grey sky for matching the snow time.
Easy map after finding the way to pass the turret, i even not destroyed the turret for reaching the end ^^
A bit short (why ladder if its not usefull ? ^^) maybe ure planning to make one Artic Surface 2 ?

Got map leaking when you look up in both rooms. good work with hammer starting to look good. Mechanics in the map was OK - dropping the cube on the turret took a few tries to get just right - could get frustrating...

Nice job. A bit trippy on the textures outside the actual map but what's to be done about that? I assume it's an editor problem. The actual map was good. Thanks

Sometimes using the invisible texture works better than the nodraw, because nodraw can cause semi -leaks.

I didn't turn off the clipping, but from the inside of the map I could see void space. It was on the roof...

So you want the funnel to turn off the moment that the cube is above the turret's head. By "breaking the funnel" we mean turning off the funnel or placing it somewhere else.

I liked this map a lot, you certainly are getting better at using Hammer, Tom.
Only problems I had were that the debris was covering some of the faith plate, which seemed a bit odd, and that there should be, like dendy crew said, another Portal surface you could use to break the funnel.

I just shot a Portal in the observation room, which I suppose I could have used to cheat.

the skybox is from hl2, however if you just import the files it will NOT work. You need to edit the vmts after that to make it

Well the ending makes no sense whatsoever, puzzle was a tad esay, and I wouldn't call the easter egg "hidden". And I dont know why an enrichment sphere would be so close to the surface, but I guess that was just a chance to show off that beautiful skybox. Where can I get it?

I ment the elevator. You can just open the door to the observation room and get to the elevator instead of doing the chamber.

Two more things: You can get stuck in the falling poles and you can do this chamber with 2 portals.

Shoot one in the observation room and one at the wall behind the faith plate, then use the faithplate to get up to that portal, then you can just walk to the exit.

You can still hit the trigger. Also you can simply jump in the trigger as soon as the start elevator stops.

Sorry for spamming a lot, but you can also get ontop of the map by getting the cube through your easter egg place and place ut so that the poles that falls lands over it, from there you can get the cube ontop of one of the poles and get on top of the map.

You can also swim through the trigger_hurt in the water and get stuck at the bottom.

You can jump on the railing in the beginning and hit the end trigger. Skipping the entire chamber.
