The test isn't bad but it is just too merciless in the second half. The door (and portable target wall) leading into the lake is timed, thus making the springboard potentially deadly. A person opens the door and if they haven't got the portholes set up right, they just die. I would put a platform under where they'll smack and a way for them to get back to the springboard. This way, they don't have to do the whole test over. .
