you are welcome
that is why I created this &:
Turret Hell-how to torture a turret-please read description & watch videos 1st.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=132141209
not a puzzle.
but payback, for all that lead, they gave us, on previous maps.
watching the video 1st, although unusual.
is essential, to get the most out of it.
not for the turrets :)
thankyou
I'm happy it was fun.
I know a liot of portal'ers, have been shot & killed (many times).
so thought this would give them some satisfaction :)
if it's not enough. thier is my other map, "how to torture a turret"
I like that there are always surprising moments in your maps.
thankyou.
thankyou again :)
altered & added connections.
extra button to press, to activate laser catcher, which is connected to the exit door.
(3 connections to exit door, in all).
added extra small upper area, with the 3rd exit door connection / laser catcher in.
& a very angry turret :)
I have just updated this map, based on your helpfull comments.
hopefully, the player will now look up.
the reason the funel can be reversed.
is sometimes a turret or more, beat the cube to the button.
(the turrets that the gell drops on)
& stop the button from being activated.
when reversed, the turrets can go into the laser & be destroyed.
the pedestal button has a short timer, to cut down on waiting.
but you can repress it at any time, to keep it on for as long as required.
I noticed a new problem during further testing.
where the cube got bouncy gel on it.
& kept bouncing on the button.
so added cleansing gel, activated by the reverse polarity button.
thankyou for your positive feedback & the thumbs up :)
I have subscribed to your map:
"East-West Hopscotch"
& yes all constructive feedback is welcome, good or bad.
I will take another look at my map, with your comments in mind,
& let you know if I update it.
I don't know if you're looking for feedback. The only thing I could think of to change would maybe be to position the "Star" button so that the player is sure to be facing the right direction when he first pushes it...?
I wasn't sure what I needed the funnel reverser button for. My guess is that sometimes the blue funnel isn't 100% effective and you need to go back with the orange and hit spots that were missed on the first pass ...?
Anyway, it was awesome, and I'm going to go play it again, see if there's anything I missed.
#F4F - Can you take a look at my first level, East-West Hopscotch
I spent many hours playtesting it, tweaking and retesting. I think it's in solid shape, pretty clever, and fun (although not nearly as fun as yours).
thankyou :)
I have subscribed to your map Recalcitrant
thankyou for the thumbs up :)
yes, I think everyone has been killed by turrets.
so this is made purely for revenge & fun.
tried not to make a puzzle here, but tempted.
glad you enjoyed, again :)
after doing the infinity map.
I just had to do something with a reflector & laser.
fun, is what I was aiming for.
thankyou.
congratulations.
your the 1st person to spot "no number 7"
you said you would be more observant. now the most observant :)
thankyou very much for you praise :)
glad you had fun.
the person with the most imagination I have seen in the portal community is:
geneosis
his workshop is:
http://steamcommunity.com/id/geneosis/myworkshopfiles?appid=620
try this map of his:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=79078517
I just watched, in amazement, the first part. What an imagination you have.
GOOD JOB!!!
I was surprised, that myself needed for the circle as long as for the indicator to solve, as it's a complete different set and shorter ways...
And deadly it will become - yes. I needed F6 for myself, to get the right timing for the final escape. Ooops, was that a hint? O_o
I will subscribe to another of your maps.
I still have loads of other peoples to play, but will play yours to.
Oh how I had to laugh as the jump gel dispensed ... just waiting for the funnel to stop and ... BINGO!
I'm sorry, I have no showmaps - #F4F anyway? Thanks a lot!
Very clever idea, thumbs up :)
thankyou
ps.
I have subscribed to your map:
Future Starter
glad you had fun.
if your interested, I have a map where you kill turrets in different ways.
but some element of each kill, is used to escape.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=80012838
glad you enjoyed it.
I don't play coop maps, but I have played the rest of your maps. great stuff.
thankyou for your DEM file, of your game play.
it's good to see someone else test it.
the blue gel you tried to use, to get up to the 2nd chamber, was just deployed to hit the turrets.
though I hit just off the corner, to hit 2 sides with bouncy gel & got out this way, during testing.
prior to this, when you jumped off the glass & operated the pedestal button, which activated the funel. it was only there, if you jumped before pressing the top 1, to avoid being traped.
the top button that alters the funels polarity, is there, in case live turrets are in the funel.
so you can move them into the laser.
sometimes they survived durring testing.
I recorded my gameplay (valve DEM file format): Download [dl.dropbox.com]
Turrets highly explosive. Handle with care
also had to get timing of some things right.
bouncy gel got on cube, cube got destroyed by fizzler, usual re-edits, to solve problems, you only notice durring testing.
I have subscribed to your map "THINK"
geneosis did a map where a reflection cube does the infinity symbol.
I could not work out all of his gates, so created a slightly different version where also all the gates are visable to the tester, for analisis, I created it to try to educate myself,
& pass on the knowledge:
reflector cube-lasers-infinity
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=105482271
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
the 2nd pedestal button near the entrance, to reverse the polarity.
is there, because sometimes the turrets would survive in the funel.
you could send them back to the laser.
glad you kind hearted person, took pity on the lonely turret & put him out of his misery.
the making was unusual, as I decided not to have a puzzle map, just fun killing turrets.
but I had to fight the urge to add puzzle elements.
this was hard.
