@Kajanator: Yes, it is, but builds are more guidelines than acutally "you have to get all of that otherwise you suck". This is the optimum of items you can get. If you don't, well no harm done. Ppl should at least learn the definition of Support and Nuke, before they go and steal kills from their Carries.
I will do the changes right ahead, since I strongly agree with what you said.
But you see - I would not have thought of this options. Two minds working on a build (meaning my husband and me who are doing the builds; he has much experience to give since he did play Dota 1 ;-)) cannot always think of all the things that have changed (since we did not have the time to read all changelogs and earlier on warding was not that important).
Since you really do want other opinions, I'll throw mine in the ring.
I find Lich is extremely good in lane when paired with a carry that has strong early damage and a stun/slow. Since his nuke is so strong early, Blast>Stun/Slow>Right Clicks can usually result in a kill. He's also strong in a defensive lane when you take his armour early. I personally always take his armour before 6.
For items, a solid team won't have an urn and a mek on the same hero, (if they die, all regen goes with them) so I would remove the urn. I would make drums situational, meant for when you're sturggling. Last thing is I would add mana boots to the situational items. Sometimes you have mana-hungry carries, or a good Q/W invoker on the other team.
Tweaking the core items this way will leave you at least 1 open slot for a TP scroll.
And to those who read the whole thing and scoffed, I don't claim to be more than average. I'm plateau'd at 2800 MMR right now..
