LOS Preview Ability

Description
WOTC Version: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1123163799

Adds an ability to all soldiers to preview LOS range by tiles, even beyond movement range.

This lets you measure LOS edge more easily and provides LOS indicator against allied units and civilians.

Now also have an ability to preview the movement range of enemies.

Also added ability to preview carry-able bodies, no more guessing where your downed soldiers are.

Known Issues:
- Only tiles of the same elevation + lowest elevation checks whether LOS is blocked, this is due to performance constraints (< 10 fps if all elevations are checked), however units of all elevations are still checked and highlighted if visible. (Uses same system as existing LOS checks, so it may have a small chance to lie)
- It has to take a spot on the ability bar, originally I plan to let it use the command bar at the top right, but there's a lot of bugs when attempting to add an ability there (which explains why overwatch/evac all use the bottomn ability bar and the command range button from the LWS mod places its button outside of the bar)

TODO:
- Dynamically change radius based on LOS of source (currently is fixed to same range as default LOS)
- Highlight objectives

You may disable/enable this mod any time, but the button will not be added until you start a tactical mission with the mod active.

Problems? Follow this guide first! it may solve your problems (applies to all mods) http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=625230005

Compability Info:
This mod does not override anything, it should be compatible with all mods.

Would it be possible to add a more static mode of the LoS preview ability?
As in not dynamically updating and showing the LoS as the mouse cursor hovers over different tiles as you move it but instead a point-&-click interface.

Basically once you select/activate this mod's LoS ability you just get the center pointer without any LoS projections until you left-click on any tile - at which point you get the full LoS calculation for that tile and maybe even only the current height level with other levels being shown when you move the camera up/down (zoom in/out).

And maybe retaining the current dynamic mode when one keeps the left mouse button depressed.

likely a base game bug, destructibles sometimes do not update LOS properly mid turn, and they will get definite proper update when you save and reload the game.

Basically you were seeing aliens you are not supposed to see but the game does not catch on properly.

When I reload a tactical save, all my soldiers lose all line of site to the all the enemies (even if they are adjacent), if there any way this mod could be causing that. Its the only tactical mod I have loaded.

@Dragon32:
Thanks. That's exactly the mod I was looking for.

You mean the ability bar? I think the arrows was a LW Toolbox / Long War 2 implementation. If you need something like that, I'd recommend "Unlimited Ability Icons"

I see in some user's screenshots there are small arrows at the end to expand the bar to the left or right. I don't see that on my screen. How do you enable that?

Ah, damned if you do damned if you don't kinda thing. Well, I'd agree with the current implimentation then, the situation I described is less likely to occur than an extra actions kinda thing.
