Adaptive Prop Visibility Distance

Prevents large props (like planes, containers etc.) from disappearing on zooming out. Adjusts LOD distance for trees depending on their size.

The larger is prop/tree, the further it is visible! For small props visibility distances should remain the same as in vanilla. FPS hit shouldn't be that much because only very large props are affected.

Also, in vanilla game all tree models get replaced with LODs at the same distance. This mod fixes that and now tree LOD distance depends on tree size. That fixes pixelated LODs of large trees like Siberian Pine by MrMaison. That may also increase FPS if lots or small trees (like bushes) are used (because they get replaced with LODs earlier).

This mod works for both standalone props (i.e. placed with More Beautification) and for props that are parts of park assets.

This mod provides an options entry where you can play with LOD distances for trees and props.
Formulas for those sliders:
For trees:
lod_distance ~ (lodfactormultiplier * triangle_area + distance_offset) * lod_distance_multiplier
For props:
render_distance ~ lodfactormultiplier * triangle_area + distance_offset
lod_distance: render_distance * lod_distance_multiplier

where triangle_area is how large tree/prop is.

This mod should be compatible with all other mods, including LOD Toggler.

Can anyone confirm if this is working with MT?

@crossedSabres i have the same bug. How did you fix that?

I'm also still getting a huge performance hit when using this mod, even after adjusting values in options. Seeing this has been reported for several months, I just wanted to know, @BloodyPenguin are you still looking for output logs and list of subscribed props so that you can look into this? Or at this stage shall we wait and see what happens after next DLC update?

As Slick Gamble has said, I'll be happy to help you improve or identify what causes the performance problem, just let me know exactly what you'd need and I'll get to it.

I downloaded the mod, because I couldn't see my fields from far distance, but nothing changed.
I changed some settings, but nothing happened. How can I see the decal fields?

Can I request a mod? Can I have a tree render distance reducer? Incorperate the ability to change the draw distance of trees, they are real FPS eaters.

@CrossedSabres Kind of looks like a view that toggles on my computer when I accidentlypress the F9 key, hopefully that will fix it for you.

I'm getting a really weird bug where this mod screws up my game UI. Any clues? Please see image:

Impressions: No errors, but the performance is very questionable. Since my previous thoughts, I learned this mod was heavy on gpu; makes sense. So I turned details down, and dynamic resolution was scaled way back, but the very poor performance remained. Setting all settings at their least aggressive (all far left on slider) did not help. Typical performance for an overhead view of my city center is 33-37 fps( no Adaptive Visibility mod). With all settings weaker than vanilla, having the mod active drops the fps to 15-17 with inferior rendering. If you use max render settings for all items (props and trees), this falls to 5-6 fps. Values obtained from 5k props dropped total, and moderate tree detailing.

I'm very interested in figuring out why vanilla prop and tree rendering is 200% more efficient. What do you need, or what do you recommend?

Is this a global approach or can I pick and choose what props can be rendered at L1 ?
