gonna be honest, i was kind of hoping that the BLU version had a bit, more. like there was actually a significant difference. RED was more agricultural looking, and BLU was more industrious

I know this is late, but it would be better if the blu version had metal instead of wood.

As suggested by Eternal Realm, I've created a new BLU version of the map! It should be automatically downloaded the next time you fire up SFM. As suggested by The Siphon, the ceiling texture in the original RED version has been changed.

Yes, Source engine maps require at least one light entity to be present, otherwise it will be just like as if you've put "mat_fullbright 1" into the console.

I don't know hammer's foibles, does it demmand you have lights to bake lighting?

would adding an HDR skybox outside the room fix it?

If there were no lights, the map would look completely lit up
