CSL Show More Limits

Description
CSL Show More Limits
v1.7.0_f5 Build_01

Purpose
Basically an enhanced version of emf's mod Show Limits
This one shows a few more items and corrects a few short comings I found in the original as well as providing the optional ability to log or record the information collected.

Usage
  • CTRL + L to activate the panel in game. (you can set another if you prefer - keep reading)
  • Hit the X button in the top right to close the panel.
  • By default the screen will refresh every 3 seconds, this is configurable, as are some other options.
  • Once a minute it will compare current numbers to the limiter figures and if with in 10% of the max\limit it will turn the text from green to yellow'ish.
  • Mouse over an object name and it will give you a general idea of the item.
  • The 'Copy' button will copy stats to the clipboard.
  • The 'Manual Refresh' is if you don't have auto-refresh on and want to pull fresh numbers.
  • The 'Log Data' button will dump the current data (as well as other helpful information) to either your game's log file, or a custom one of your choice set in the config.
  • Mod Options settings - set the basic options, mouse over them, they have tool tips explaining if you're not sure. The open config file button will only appear on the Windows platform, it basically will just launch the config file in notepad.

Target Audience

Anyone who wants to watch if they are approaching a particular object limit or is curious about these stats. If you are trying to troubleshoot the "I've hit the object limit but I don't think I should have yet" issue then this mod should be helpful in finding specifically where leaks are. Additionally the 'Log Data' button will also dump a list of enabled mods, so it can also help with tracking down what was in use with what map while you were testing.

It is not, I repeat NOT going to help you increase any limits or neccessarly solve an issue of any leaks (assuming they even exist), it just helps you spot them - pause game, note numbers, create item, note increases, delete items, note numbers, etc etc. If you want to discuss a certain issue relating to hitting limits do so via the discussions tab, not the general comments, keep that clean for reports about the mod itself.

If however you use this and find your 'Net Lanes' #'s don't make sense with your 'Net Segment' #'s then maybe you have the phantom lanes issue and need my Phantom Lane Remover which will fix you right up.

Installation\Configuration Information

Configuation File Location: %SkylinesInstallFolder%\CSLShowMoreLimites_Config.xml

Where %SkylinesInstallFolder% is the root of your Cities Skylines installation folder, for most that would be something like c:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Cities_Skylines .

More infomation about configuation options are in the read me (in the workshop folder) - a copy can be viewed --Here--

Compatibility
No detouring or touching of the game is done, should be fully compatible with all other mods, unless they use the same keybind maybe, if key-bindings are an issue try the "use alternative keybindings" option, there is a default alternative or you may set your own in your config file.

Known issues:
-In the map editor - the buttons still work when you press them but they don't display or act like you pressed them, the sprites I use for them are apparently only in the "in-game" texture atlas, probably will fix on the next pass.

-In the scenario editor - the background image\texture is missing, I'm still investigating why that is, something is better than nothing for now though, and really it's not that useful in the scenario editor other than for trees maybe.

-English only atm - I don't know if I'll ever get around to it, but I need to go back and refactor everything anyway and one of those things will probably be for localization support, if nothing else then to see how it's done in Unity\CSL.

I just wanted to give you a big "thank you"! I hit my limit with a pop of 620k and thought it was over. Also, the info from your mod prompted me to go back to my developed areas and clear cut all the ghost trees. I appreciate your work. Thank you!.

@Royal Raven, yes that is true.

"CSL Show More Limits" deploys a much more informative and thankfully smaller and less obtrusive UI. It can be left on all the time which is essential when you are close to all limits. I use both mods and find Watch-It although fantastic overall does not monitor limits in this highlighting intuitive way.

This mod still works fine on my old big cities that are mostly bumping all of the limits, that said, I would be more comfortable when the author updates it to current game version.

For those wondering, this is included in Watch It!

Has this mod been updated to be compatible with Airports and the new game update?

This is very useful for large cities! By the way, could you please add the limit of importing/exporting cargo?

@SayupTawa -- To my knowledge, your only option is to use Procedural Objects (PO) to convert props to procedural objects. PO's have a limit of over 2,000,000,000 so you should never run out.
