Months passed. Little by little the chains keeping Ethreain weighted down succumbed to the leeching cold of his magic and snapped. No sooner had he stretched his deadened form, readying to rebuild his tyrannical grasp on the kingdoms of the world, than he was rushed and trapped by monks in shadowed robes. Their ancient order had been following the Lich's path, planning for the inevitable day of his escape.

Unable to end his eternally extended life, they instead wrapped him in scrolls laced with magic supressing sigils and spells. Inkwells were plumbed into his very flesh and enchanted quills set about to ever-replenish the inscriptions using the Lich's own lifeforce. If Etherain were to try and undo these scrolls as he had the old chains, it would mean destroying his own power. Safely suppressed once again, he roams the world, enraged at being bound even tighter by these infernal new chains.
