Doga's Village

Doga's Village is an optional area in Final Fantasy 3. All of the village's inhabitants are Black Mages who sell a vast assortment of spells including all of the normal summons. Doga's Village cannot be reached until the Nautilus gains the ability to go underwater.

To gain access to Doga's Village you have to dive underwater off the south shore of the Dalg Continent and look for a recess in the island. Moving into the alcove and surfacing in the lighted water causes the player to emerge in a small lake next to the town.

Eureka

Eureka is an optional dungeon that contains some of the best equipment in the game. A gateway to it can be found at the bottom floor of the Crystal Tower, but the Eureka Key is required. Doga and Unei unlock the Eureka Key, and give it to the Warriors of the Light, granting them access to Eureka, knowing they need better equipment to fight Xande.

In the final area of Eureka the player can find three shopkeepers selling some of the best spells, summons, and equipment in the game. It is here that you can purchase the legendary summons for a ridiculously high price.

Summon Shop:
Name
Cost
Catastro
40000 gil
Leviath
50000 gil
Bahamur
60000 gil
Odin:
*It should be noted that Odin is level 40 and unless you are looking for an incredible challenge your party should be at the very least the same level at him.*

In order to fight Odin you must first enter the Saronia Catacombs. There is an underwater entrance if you dive underwater just west of Saronia. Navigate your way through the catacombs picking up chests along the way. When you get to the end Odin will be waiting to challenge your party.

Battle Tips:
  • Do not fight Odin until you are at least level 37
  • Have a warrior and a Dragoon
  • Have a Thief with a job level of at least 71

NOTE: This is the only opportunity in the game to obtain the spear Gungnir. This is the most powerful weapon until the end of the game. In order to steal the spear form Odin you must have a thief with a job level of at least 71. Gungnir also has a 2% chance of being dropped after you defeat Odin.

Odin only uses two attack. A regular physical attack that deals around 400 damage to one character and the or Zantetsuken attack which does massive damage to all characters. The Protect spell can be used to defend against Odin's physical attacks.

Make sure you have a warrior, Dragoon and a Thief in your party. Have the warrior use Warriors's Advance to do over 2000 damage. Have the dragoon use the jump ability to avoid damage from or Zantetsuken and do damage. Have the Thief steal until you get the Gungnir Spear. You also may want to consider having a Dark Knight to use the Souleater skill which is an excellent way to lower Odins Hit Points fast.

Once you have defeated Odin you will obtain the summon "Catastro".
Leviathan:
After you have obtained the Invincible return to the and fly over the waters of a lake west of Castle Argus. Leviathan can be seen swimming around underneath the water of the lake. Land the Invisible and use the Magical Folding Canoe to approach Leviathan.

When you collide with Leviathan you will automatically be sent to a cave in Lake Dohr. This map is very small and at the end of the cave you will Fight Leviathan.

Battle Tips:

  • Equip lightning based spells and weapons
  • Equip Hammers if available
  • 2 Platinum Hammers can be found in Lake Dohr

Leviathan uses physical attacks that have the ability to petrify your characters. It can also cast haste and protect on itself. Its most dangerous attack is Tsunami which will hit all of your character. Leviathan has a 20,000 hit points.

Focus on leviathans weakness to lightning spells and weapons to inflict the most damage possible. Once you have defeated Leviathan you will obtain the summon "Leviath"
Bahamut:
In order to reach Bahamut's lair your you will have to obtain the airship the Invincible. Fly over the mountain ridges southeast of Vikings cove.

Enter the cave and collect the chest as you head through to and exit at the back of the cave. It is here that you will encounter Bahamut

Battle Tips:
  • Equip wind based spells such as Aeroga
  • Use the the Dragoons Jump ability

Bahamut has a total of 24,000 hit points. He also gets two actions per turn. He will sometime use his ability Megaflare which will deal damage to everyone in the party. Focus on keeping your character healed and using wind based attack as well as the Jump ability. Once you have defeated Bahamut you will obtain the summon "Bahamur"

An alternate strategy for Odin:
Bring a Viking with a high job level, put him into the back row and equip him with two shields and the best gear you have. Then use Provoke. Odi wil deal scratch damage or no damage at all, if the gear is strong enough and/or when Protect is cast on the Viking.
Provoke an fail, especially on lower job levels and Zantetsuken can not be tanked,

The party can survive the blow, if everyone is close to 1,500 HP and Protect is cast on the squishier characters. A knight can use the weapon Defender to cast Protect for free. The weapo can be found inside the Temple of Time and Sunken Cave.

With that strategy, it's possible to win the fight with a slightly lower level.
