Beskrivelse
PHOTON VFX

Photon is a lightweight upgrade to the visual effects of explosions in the game, with brighter, more vibrant lighting, shrapnel spark effects, and blast wave refraction effects.
Vehicle tracer lifetime has also been increased slightly to make them more effective at relevant ranges. Tracer brightness, size, and colour have not been altered.

Designed with an aim to have as minimal fps impact as possible, whilst making the game more immersive and impactful.

No mods required.
.pbo files for fx are separated so you can choose to remove the lighting, sparks, or blast refraction effects.

Photon VFX is recommended (but not required) to use in conjunction with Photon VFX Smoke addon, and Munitions Armoury - get them here :

Smoke : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3001088972
Armoury : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2964055294

IMPORTANT : Not intended to be used at the same time as Real Engine blast wave effects, or Blastcore blast effects and its derivative versions - this may cause some visual effect conflicts with the blast wave refraction. Other features of these mods should work fine.
In short - only run ONE of either 'real_sfx_blast_refract.pbo' (Real Engine), 'blast_refract.pbo' (Blastcore), or 'refraction.pbo' (Photon) for best results.

Hi, I think that flares are too much bright. Could you make a vanilla version?

anyone experience a refract floating when in battle? i mean a mirror like effect or heat haze or what you call that. how did you fix them?

awesome mod Wenza, I'm now using your mod instead of blastcore murr edition. Just one little suggestion: less smoke and a little more sparks when APFSDS hitting metal. Thanks for your work anyway.

Hey, I've got an idea that could make this mod feel much more realistic.
So with both vanilla and this mod smoke and dust are mostly gray.
If you could re-texture or replace the gray dust with brown dust I think that would make a night and day difference. As it would give the effect of actual dirt getting kicked up like we see in real life and blastcore murr edition for example
keeping some gray is probably a good idea but making the overwhelming gray into an overwhelming light earthy brown may work wonders for this mod!

@Master Gardener
I haven't made any changes to these effects, and they seem to be working as expected in testing.
I'll push an update and see if that fixes the issue.

With the last one or two updates I believe the spark effects are missing for at least hand grenades and UGL grenades.

Will get right on testing this
Thanks Wenza

New update! Blastwave effects have been reworked, and should be much less 'intrusive' now.
Some lighting effects were fixed.
I would very much appreciate any feedback about the new blastwave effects!

@Dutch
Odd, I only changed one small value for one particular explosion type in the last update... I'll take a look and see if I can replicate the issue
Can you detail me which munitions / explosion effect this was happening on?

I think your latest update has created some strange refractions.. They're large distortions of the screen, usually linked to anything I guess that's supposed to show godrays?
