When Abaddon broke the enemy line on the plains of Emauracus, he won a great victory, but at a devastating price.
The Lord of Avernus rode from the smoldering battlefield alone, gravely wounded, his sword shattered beyond repair.

Abaddon arrived at House Avernus in silence, speaking to no one and pausing only to leave his broken weapon outside the Chamber of the Font.
For weeks, he locked himself away in the black mists of the Font of Avernus, and the very stones groaned and rumbled in sympathy with their guardian.
When he finally emerged, Abaddon carried a weapon fashioned of the mist itself:
Tyrkon, the Flail of Avernus, a gift from the Font to its tireless protector.
