During the Edo Period the naginata became a symbol of the social status of women of the samurai class. A functional naginata was a traditional part of a samurai daughter's dowry. Samurai women used them to defend their homes while their husbands were away at war.Now Slithice wields her Naganata not to defend, but to restore her lost honor.
