Description
FRANCE (LOUIS XIV)
Unique Trait: The Sun King
Buildings constructed in non-Capital cities are built in the Capital instead. Buildings that already exist in the Capital trigger a short 'We Love the King Day' there instead.

Unique Building: Chateau
A Chateau must be built adjacent to a Luxury resource. It may not be adjacent to another Chateau. It provides two additional Gold and one additional Culture, and increases Wonder Production in the Capital by +2% (up to 100) during if the Capital is undergoing a 'We Love the King Day' or +1% (up to 50%) otherwise. When Railroad is researched its Culture yield increases by 1 and its Gold output rises by 2. Must be built in French territory under Louis XIV.

Unique Unit: Musketeer
The Musketeer is the French unique unit under Louis XIV, replacing the Musketman. The Musketeer is trained +5% faster in the Capital for each Chateau built anywhere in your borders (up to +100%). If the Capital is undergoing a 'We Love the King Day' when a Musketeer is trained, each Chateau also increases its starting XP by +1 (up to +15). Train Musketeers in your Capital to ensure they are the highest quality possible.
FRANCE (NAPOLEON)
Unique Trait: The Sun of Austerlitz
On the outbreak of war with a major Civilization, all current Land Combat Units become more likely to generate Great Generals. Great Generals may be expended to instantly assimilate Occupied cities.

Unique Unit: Chevau-léger
The Chevau-léger is a Mounted Unit unique to Napoleon's France. This unit is faster than the Lancer which it replaces and gains a 33% bonus in attack whilst at 50% or lower HP. Use it to outpace other Mounted Units of the era.

Unique Unit: Imperial Guard
The Imperial Guard is the French replacement for the Rifleman under Napoleon. Unlike the regular Rifleman, the Imperial Guard is stronger and is cheaper to upgrade, though it also takes longer to build. It increases the amount of points generated toward Great Generals from combat. It also begins with additional XP if trained in a city with a Courthouse.
PATCHNOTES
  • v5
  • Depreciated outdated and non-standard mod support.
  • Added new city lists for both Louis and Napoleon thanks to DarthKyofu.
  • Added adjusted Civ Icon for Napoleon thanks to DarthKyofu.
  • Reverted Napoleon's France from having the Napoleonic adjective to just being French (i.e. French Empire).
  • Louis XIV now leads a custom France civ (as opposed to Napoleon doing this in the previous version). This should make things like E&D make more sense with Napoleon as leader of France.
  • UA and Chateau redesigned.
  • Fixed issue where the Chateau did not yield 2 Gold as stated in the help text.
  • Chateau's yields are now improved with Railroad instead of Flight.
  • Chateau now unlocks at Architecture (or Sovereignty with EE) instead of Chivalry.
  • Added missing mention of the Imperial Guard's ability to cheaper upgrade to its help text.
  • Removed Imperial Guard's ability to ignore ZoC (unintended).
  • Napoleon's UA now works via a Mission button.
  • Instead of receiving a free GG on the outbreak of war, all current Land Combat Units increased the spawn rate of GGs.
  • Corrected build help text stating the Chateau still provided a Defense bonus (which was removed in the original version).
  • Various text, supports, and code standardizations/optimizations.
  • Fixed black outlines on Civ Icon and Unit Flag alphas (where applicable).
  • Fixed issue where the ambience in the leaderscene overwrote the music (where applicable).

If you prefer the original version, it can be downloaded here[drive.google.com].

As a lover of your napoleonic france mod, I must inform you that the last update of the mod has a problem that french imperial guard has settler unit icon instead of its own one. This really interrupts to enjoy this mod. Also, the ability that the civilization gets great general when it declares war was really fascinating too. Especially the historical names of the generals. Do you have any thought to restore that ability for napoleon? I will be really glad if you do.

Update: I think the issue happens when both this mod and JFD's Carthage enabled. I found in CharthageDido_GameText.xml, there is a tag 'TXT_KEY_MOD_JFD_FRANCE_NAPOLEON_DESCRIPTION'

Adding to the pile of people mentioning Louis XIV's ability doesn't work properly. Even with no other mod active, the buttons are blank and do nothing. Unfortunate since it is a cool design. The chateau providing WLTKD does work though at least, so I guess it's still an overall buff over BNW France.

Maybe you should make clear that the mod also improves Napoleon's France in the title. Your new Napoleon is RADICAL, slightly op when his UUs join the party but it makes up for the slow start. Very enjoyable to play Nappy in a military way with UUs of his army rather than going cultural with boring musketeers and chateaux.
