Description
Replaces Social Policies with Social Engineering

Social Engineering is the system from the Alpha Centauri game that allows civilizations to fine-tune their politics, economics, and values. Like Social Policies, Social Engineering choices bestow benefits on their societies, but differ in that they also come with penalties. In addition, choices also have an impact on diplomatic relations.

For Help
* In-game: Civilopedia -> Concepts -> Social Policies
* In the Mod folder: Social Engineering.pdf

Requirements and Compatibility
* Gods & Kings Expansion required, Brave New World Expansion optional.
* Will conflict with mods that make changes to the base game Eras or to Policies or the Policy Screen.

Troubleshooting
* See this basic guide.
* Mac users see this CivFanatics forum thread[forums.civfanatics.com] for help on enabling mods.

Also, there's a weird glitch with penicilin. When you research it, you can no longer see your building queues or your spies. :-\

I mean it'd be nice if I could go "fundamentalist" and "power" to complement her Fanatic units, but my stats get killed, so it doesn't work. :-\

Alright. I finally unlocked "thought control" to eliminate anarchy, but still, I'm not sure if this mod is great. Without "police state" my happiness is always in the tank, and that's even while owning Notre Dame, Taj Mahal, and the Eiffel Tower. My budget is in the tank without "wealth" as well, and "planned" is needed to optimize population growth. "Free market" kills happiness even with "police state" compensating.

The mod needs to be rebalanced since the numbers don't offer many options. I still literally have over 9,000 culture points in my game as well where I'm playing as Miriam.

Mod's kind of boring to be honest. The anarchy penalty makes it pointless to switch your social engineering since the loss of resources isn't worth it.

If you removed anarchy and just increased the culture cost per social engineering switch, it would be much better. Right now, I'm just stuck with a ton of culture points and no efficient switches to use with them.

is this compatible with civ names by policies?

It would be nice if there was a version that only replaced vanilla ideologies and kept the original social policies.

Did that before I even posted, but it wasn't working. I ended up taking the linked mods off and got it to work.

@The_Preacher Right click the choose policy icon to dismiss.

Hey, having a small issue. I'm using all of your AC mods along with the recomended mods and for some reason I can get the social engineering screen to work, but after I spend all of my policy points it still says I have some to spend. It is litterally not letting me end any turns. Is there a fix for this?
