day 1 review and all I have to say is that its fricking funny (technically day 2 but its 12:39 AM)

so far so good. its pretty scary and seems to be the closest to an actual backrooms game with procedurely generated levels. my current PC is broken so I was only able to run on a steam deck OLED (with the lowest settings its about 15-30 fps and is barely playable) be weary steamdeck users this game is not optimised for the deck right now. granted its in pre-alpha

Let me clear the air, this is a day 1 review. (edited on day 2)

HellDivers 2 uses a kernel level anti-cheat. So does Elden Ring and many other games, believe it or not Easy Anti-Cheat is a kernel level anti-cheat. People are saying this anti-cheat is untrust-worthy because its kernel level yet they run other games that have kernel anti-cheats? Regardless, an anti-cheat on a PvE game was made so ArrowHead could protect their funds so people wouldnt rob them of supercredits, perfectly fair.

Secondly, people complain theres no stratagem upgrades. Ship modules upgrades stratagems.

People complain about how you can drop research on death, its like this because theres less things that use research points so they wanted it to be a little harder to gain.

People complain that the exp and money rewards are too low. Playing on harder difficulties makes you gain much more, and dont you dare complain about this if you have and played deep rock galactic.

People say the game crashes while others dont. I'd say you have a good chance it wont and if it crashes for you just submit it to arrowhead and they'll patch it up. They requested us to do this.
How can we help a development company if we dont report to them whats wrong? "Instant refund because your game crashed 2 times in less than 20 minutes?" Thats probably the least amount of patience I've ever read in a negative review ever.

People complain about how the matchmaking is broken and that multiplayer doesnt work, this has all been fixed now as its working better than ever.

Dont go on this game based on the negative reviews but to actually what YOU think. Purchase it and if it doesnt please you then just submit a refund. If you cant play it because hardware issues then you'd be helping a lot of people out by submitting that information to Arrow Head.

This game should definitely be having a MUCH better review rating but people always complain and review bomb on first day launch. It happens to every game, sure it shouldnt be the normal but they were never able to stress test servers up to 81,000 people peak (steamdb backs this up as of 2/9/2024)
in 2018, they only had 18 people max play on the servers, they would have had to postpone launch by weeks or even months if they wanted to stress test servers and get it to where it can handle thousands of people at once. Servers are expensive you know.

I'm done with writing this review but I hope players start changing their negative reviews and actually give better criticism on HD2.

honestly just posting a review to say that this is the 27th review for this game.

it is a really fun game but in its current state, matchmaker is broken and every time I load in its like me and 1 other person fighting against each other

EDIT 2: having LOADS of fun with this game so far, unfortunately the strats can be really toxic but its great! very chaotic and very hyped and too much destruction lol

it was fun back in the day but they are just milking it out for content and doing cringe crossovers.
It'd be better if the game died and stayed classic

first of 486 reviews and here to say that I'm super excited for the future of this ror game!

I'll write a serious review this time;
you'll see many negative reviews regarding the game being buggy. As most of these bugs are fixed I have never encountered any of them. The Labryinth is indeed almost all cubes but thats the whole point of it (dont forget the spheres) it isnt really made to be a boss region like the other worlds.

I have really enjoyed (and probably borderline addicted) this game and I was so dedicated I went and I'm 90% done for unlocking archon and have all other classes and I still find the game very addicting.

I keep getting butt humped by people in masks when I'm not looking

played 5 hours in one day, gosh my day went so fast after playing this masterpiece.
I have no cons about the game, I have not encountered a single bug so far. difficulty is a little on the easier side because you can just keep hopping and they wont catch you, so no use for adrenaline there.
10/10 though cant wait to see the future of this game unfold!
