TLDR:
- The game is in a bad state at the moment, the devs don’t seem to be listening to the community feedback the players are giving.

- The meta weapons are so overpowered that there is almost no consistent counterplay to them short of using them yourself.

- The game to this day is still very buggy with quite a few bugs going unpatched for weeks or even months.

- The implementation of the AntiCheat seems terrible and cheating is still rampant. Some quick google searches later and you find that: cheating is most commonly done with a very basic program that should have been patched a long time ago now.

[WARNING: ESSAY AHEAD]

I really wanted to give this game a good review... BUT it is just really disappointing how badly the devs and or the company / publisher are doing with it. They just don't seem to be able to hit the mark on making the changes the community is hoping for to make the experience of playing the game better and more fun.
I want to start by saying that this game could absolutely be really good and has a lot of fun aspects about it but as of posting this review, the bad just outweighs the good in a very large margin.
Starting with the terrible balancing of the weapons:
- The FCAR, AK, xp-54, m11 and basically all the other automatic weapons do way too much damage compared to everything else, to the point that a heavy with the ks-23 can’t win against a medium even if he gets the first shot for free.
It has been almost 4 months now (at the time of this review) and the same stale meta is still around with no change to it anywhere in sight. (Just look at the attempts at nerfing the FCAR that have had basically no effect on it in actual gameplay) It is just boring how there is basically nothing else you play against but meta slaves using the most OP weapons. Which mind you are basically a category on its own and if you want to have any consistent success you need to use them yourself.

Second are the bugs:
The collection of weird and strange but frustrating bugs within the game seems to be very large. From props, turrets, cannisters and even people phasing right trough walls and or floors, to the game randomly cancelling your sprinting or movement in general, weapons not swapping properly, getting stuck in random parts of the maps, overlapping spawn locations with other teams, etc... To bad interactions between explosives and the ground often resulting in no damage to the player being shot and bad hit/damage registration overall...
There is a very long list of broken things and interactions in this game that make it frustrating to play and make an FPS game that normally should reward skill into a random dice roll on weather or not you get to kill the enemy.

Third would be the cheating problem:
There still is a very large problem with cheaters in this game, both in the ranked ladder as well as om the casual modes. The implementation of EasyAntiCheat seems quite poor as it is locking people out of using normal programs that should be allowed. (Like the software to set the dpi on your mouse for example) Yet after some googling the main cheat used in this game is exactly that, an external program that uses the info on your own screen to give you an aimbot. The fact that this program has been around for more then 2.5 months now and you still don’t get banned right away for using it is frankly inexcusable.

There are honestly even more problems, and I could keep going for a while, but this review must end somewhere. So, my current conclusion after about 180 hours in the game is to just not play it right now. In its current state it is just not an enjoyable experience, and you are better off playing something better.

I can totally recommend this game. Personally i was a bit sceptical of even trying this game as "fast paced shooters" are not my thing usually.
But they made a story-line that was extremely interesting and captivating. By the end it really made fully invested into the story. Not even stopping to check the maps or try and find collectibles.

Overall i can totally recommend this game to anyone. Even if these types of games are not your favorite, the story is good enough to make up for it.

I'm a big fan of this game. I think the way they have structured the combat intertwined with the exploration in unique areas is awesome. Also big props to the devs for listening to the community. That is always appreciated. Overall a great experience

2022 update - Still one of the best games and DEV teams out there.
