Sony went back on the mandatory PSN account linking requirement for now, which is great, but it seems they aren't fully backing down yet.

The game still cant be purchased in over 100 countries where you cant make a PSN account, despite the game no longer requiring account linking. This sounds a lot like Sony planning to implement mandatory account linking anyway after this all dies down.

Kind of ironic that for a game all about freedom, democracy, and capitalism a large amount of people aren't free to buy this otherwise pretty excellent game.

I played this when I was a kid and loved it. It still holds up today too, the puzzles are still quite challenging and fun. The art, voice acting, and soundtrack are all pretty top tier too.

Pretty fun game so far, just made it past the first main boss. I can easily recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of the Overlord light novels or the anime series.

My only issue is that navigating the menus is a bit painful. Im using a wired Xbox 360 controller and since this game seems to have been made with the Switch in mind first, the buttons to navigate menus are swapped. The B button on the Xbox controller confirms a selection and the A button is used to go back/exit, which is a bit confusing.
The game does allow you remap controls, but those changes only apply to your character in game and not to menu navigation. The only way to reasonably fix this yourself is to use Steam's built in controller mapping tool. Which is pretty easy to use.

Overall a good game, just wished they payed a bit more attention to supporting different types of controllers. I would also like to see a better settings menu, there are currently no video options (changing resolution, aspect ratio, vsync etc...) aside from switching between fullscreen and windowed.

Gradually unlocking new content (Items, stages, characters, and enemy types) over multiple runs is very satisfying and helps keep things fresh. A lot of similar games do this (Risk of Rain 1&2 and Enter the Gungeon), but I feel like The Binding of Isaac takes this to a whole different level. There's just so much to unlock and explore.

Ive played this game for 69 hours and im only just now barely touching end-game content, its crazy how much the devs have managed to fit into this game. Plus if you ever get bored of the vanilla base game content there's a huge selection of awesome mods on the Steam Workshop to mess around with.

Ok so after 4000 hours playing this game I can confirm, there is more than just one cookie.

At the time of writing this im 28 hours in and have only gotten to the second main boss (havent beaten it yet). Thats not because im bad, there's just so much other stuff you can go out and do in this game. The open world is really well made.

As for the difficulty, this is my first souls-like game and I gotta say. None of my deaths so far have felt like the game being unfair. Whenever I die its either my fault or the enemy just being way tougher than me which just means I have to come back after ive gotten good or got better gear.

Used to play this on the Wii all the time when I was younger, amazing game and it still holds up to this day imo. The PC port is amazing too although I recommend playing with a Xbox controller or something like that.
