actually some of the best turn based combat i've ever played
with a couple exceptions the game tells u what actions the enemies are gonna take, which combined with the grid and pigment systems lets them go ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nuts with the enemy design and makes for really tense and engaging gameplay, especially the bosses, charcarrion and osman sinnoks have become some of my favorite boss fights in any game ever. even attacks that can insta-kill feel completely fair because of all the information the game gives you, when a character gets killed by one it's almost always because of a risk you took or a mistake you made. and the art is great, and the music is great, and the story made me cry??? like its pretty much a perfect game its crazy

*it can be a lot sometimes though, if you arent giving the game ur full attention sometimes u forget something and make a run ending mistake dont try to play it while watching a youtube video or something ur gonna die
a decent amount of the negative reviews seem to have not even gotten out of easy mode

i want to like this game so bad
i think brainwash gang's other games are great, the game looks great, theres fun ideas, but i really cant recommend this game
a lot of the guns (except the flamethrower, the flamethrower feels terrible) you can get from cards feel pretty good but the base pistol just feels horrible to me, its not that accurate and doesnt do that much damage so you end up reloading over and over and it feels bad, especially when you die and they live with like 6 health. time to kill can be agonizingly long sometimes, healing cards or health increasing cards or health increasing characters on top of an already pretty high health pool really draw out fights
a lot of cards level up and get better when you get duplicates, which is a terrible idea???? all this does is give newer players objectively worse cards and make them not want to play. theres no way to buy cards you just have to buy packs until you get the cards you want, which is insanely frustrating when you cant get your hands on important counterplay cards like swap guns.
there are cards that are just completely unfun, tin man sucks, shrink sucks, mind blowing sucks, barbed cards sucks. hot potato sucks, nuke + heartless sucks, no jump sucks, and worst of all: self destruct. self destruct is a mind boggling card to me it is so insanely badly designed. it basically just lets you win the game after winning 2 of 5 rounds
it feels like balance changes are never significant enough to change anything and features people have been asking for since the game came out like more than 4 deck slots still arent in the game
i want to like the game but ughhhhhh
*they finally added more deck slots, everything else seems like its still an issue though
