Dead Money is one of the most controversial New Vegas DLCs because of it's forced style of play, obnoxious use of booby traps, the bomb collar mechanic, and the fact you cannot return to the base game until it is complete.

As for my opinion? This is the game's best DLC bar none. The atmosphere is the one of the most hopelessly brutal and depressing stories I've seen in a game. The giant red cloud in the sky tinting the entire place in a hellish hue, the claustrophobic buildings, the Ghost People. As for the complaints with this DLC, I personally think they're some of it's greatest strengths. The fact you cannot go back just sells how far away from New Vegas you truly are, and you have to deal with this oppressive atmosphere with no breaks. The style switch from a RPG to a survival horror game is absolutely brilliant and all they really had to do was take your weapons away. The constant traps add to the feeling of the town being lived in after the bombs dropped, and their hopeless endeavor of trying to survive. Although people have a very fair criticism of the broken radios effecting the bomb collars, I can't defend that part.

But for the real draw of the DLC is it's story. The story is one big Shakespearian tragedy, but when I play this game, all I can remember is this one portion that is disconnected from the whole plot.

In the Sierra Madre casino itself, you find a terminal, and on it is a message from someone about the bombs dropping, and how the casino is locked down. The terminal's owner replies to the person explaining they're on their way to them. And if you turn the corner, you see what you can only describe as the skeletons of the two people from the conversation, holding each other. This one moment made me realize how hauntingly beautiful this DLC is, I cannot recommend it enough if it's your style.

It's like LISA, but if you thought that the main character just losing arms wasn't enough, and wanted combat that made your life hell.

An upgrade from Project Nexus classic in almost every way, to start with arena mode, it basically became its own story and was an amazing change. I was genuinely invested throughout all of it. If there was one gripe I had, it would be I miss being able to hire Hank, Sanford, Deimos, and the rest of the crew. I also wish that the imprints you didn't choose at the start of the run had a chance to appear in hirelings, since it would give you a chance to see them in action still, and would diversify the possible skills hirelings have outside of specializing in either unarmed, gunmanship, acrobatics, or melee ability.

As for the story, it felt like an extended episode of madness, with charming dialogue to boot. The characterization of the main cast through dialogue was something I didn't know I needed. I am really looking forward to potential DLC following the ending. Overall, this was a game well worth the wait in my opinion, and the free updates helps make an already complete game have even more stuff to do.

A rather rough but surprisingly great game despite it's flaws. To start with, I liked the atmosphere, while there weren't too many outright horror moments, it works really well. Although the few jumpscares feel a little cheap. The art design is easily the most rough out of the trilogy, but I feel it captures the era it's trying to capture perfectly. The puzzles, while challenging, never really jumped the gun in ludicrousness or absurdity, and were rather well designed. But the real thing that will determine if you like the game or not is the combat. Personally, I found it to be great. The attack and block key are mapped to two awkward buttons on the bottom left of the keyboard, making combat feel janky but it works really well for the game, at least for me. It made the combat scenarios much more intense because you had to really watch what the enemy was doing, but the thing that kind of undermines this is the fact that battles are pointless, because you get no real reward from doing them, making them feel like a chore after a certain point.

Overall, this is a game I highly recommend if you're looking for a game you can finish rather quickly and also in the mood for something unnerving.

I rather enjoyed my time with this. The 360 degree combat and environments was really good and are a huge step up from CURSED II, and I already thought that the environments were great there. I'd say my biggest gripe is with combat. At the start you have a slow as hell reload, but luckily the more you use your weapons, the less issues it causes. Although I wish there was a melee weapon at the start to half way point. Overall, it had a very satisfying ending and I'm glad I found this little series.

I have to admit, this game feels like an utter steal for how good it is. There's a lot of depth surprisingly and it creates a really good atmosphere. The combat took a little to get used to after CURSED 1 but its nothing that is too difficult to adjust to. My biggest gripes are smaller things, like the unskippable menu prelude and no options menu. Other than that, this game is well worth your time and I highly recommend it if you like retro styled games, are a fan of point and click, and enjoy horror.

After nearly 100%ing it after around 8 years I can officially say, it was all worth it in the end. There's no 100% reward (as far as I can tell so far) but the game was consistantly enjoyable all the way through, even on its hardest difficulty. I would recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone who's a fan of RPGs.

It also spawned an inside joke with a friend of mine, so it gets bonus points for that.
