Early Access Review
Tower Unite is a reenvisioning of the classic and unique play experience that was GMod Tower, with this version being a spiritual successor created by the original development team no longer bound by the limitations of the source engine. As a result, Tower Unite feels like a combination of all the memorable and quality aspects of Tower with new life and character breathed into them, combining updated versions of original games and features with more content that will be sufficient to enrapture you for hours on end. Play mini golf, decorate your condo, sit in the casino for three hours, however you play this game it will never seem like a waste of time.

Nier: Automata is perhaps the most synergistic marriage of story and gameplay I have seen thus far. From the fluid battle mechanics, expansive yet easily navegable world and the comprehensive learning curve for 4 different paths of game completion to the complex and poignant themes combined with the ambient music and snippets of harrowing information both in plain sight and hidden through unlocks, Nier: Automata leaves little more to be desired as most of it lays before your very eyes. Overall, Nier: Automata is not simply a game but more so an experience that demands from you your time, energy and most importantly your devotion.

Touhou returns in a classic yet always fresh take on the well-known format. Bringing with it a selection of 4 playable characters, each with unique bullet patterns, spell cards and other quirks, the player can choose from the classic protagonists Reimu and Marisa or choose from either the ever favourable tengu Aya Shameimaru or Cirno, sporting a glowing tan. The difficulty remains fair yet challenging, with each stage requiring memory, skill and patience to pass successfully. The music is diverse and evocative, and certainly deserves a place among the already revered Touhou soundtracks of the past (most notably the theme for stage 4). The bosses are unique and all equally daunting, but once you being to progress you begin to realise how easily you can surpass each one, despite their spell cards being a worthy hurdle to overcome, and one that you may fall flat on your face over many times.

Overall it's hard to fault yet another stellar entry to the immortal Touhou series, as ZUN continues to put his heart, soul and physical years of his life into his single-handedly crafted masterpieces.

English patches are available through Touhou fan sources so for those who can't read Japanese I would recommend making use of those.

An emotional investment of a masterpiece with unforgettable characters, nuanced and fulfilling plot, tons of niche references, interesting mechanics and filler that doesn't feel like filler at all, and probably ends up being important anyway because Steins;Gate certainly doesn't overlook anything when it comes to character development.
