Subnuatica Below Zero manages to capture some of the original games most defining characteristics yet falls flat when it comes to standing out from its predecessor, while not every game has to follow suit with its previous installments and these games should try to stand out with new features. Overall the game is absolutely stunning environment wise and the creatures seen in Below Zero have an amazing mix of foreign yet somewhat natural looks compared with some of Subnautica's original creatures and the bases have been expanded on in many different ways. Also the limitation or complete removal of some features from the original game offer a slight in challenge E.g. removal of stasis rifle or no true form of protection from larger enemies (cyclops).

Yet something feels off... With the original game I followed every, single, little, change, that made it's way to the game completely ruining the story for myself but I still enjoyed every small second of my original playthrough while at the same time being completely terrified. However this feeling is no where near the same for the second game, the story alone is not enough for me to get invested in, every aspect felt like one big franken-patchwork of non-linear storyline, take for example the Mercury II just felt like a complete re-hash of the whole Degassi story from the original game, just another sunken ship with a lost crew.

In conclusion Subnautica Below Zero fails to retain the aspects that kept the original game continiously fun and engaging, In the original games development it held on by a thread, a very tight budget which helped to keep the developers on their toes and really shake up the market, If Below Zero really wanted to be a true sequel, Unkownworlds should've cut some holes in their pockets first.

And a few certain someones working at Unknownworlds pushing for a few too many things to make the game more "Diverse"

Also when are you going to finish Future Perfect I mean come on guys pick up your game! When was the last update anways? What like 2015? That's like 3 months ago SMH!
