Full disclosure, I've played about 15 hours or so on the Switch version prior to this so this isn't a hasty "sonic bad game bad" review. I was going to recommend it if you got it at half price because truthfully you can get just as much content from Mania and its DLC, but the lack of warning about needing an Epic Games account is pretty bad (no Denuvo warning prior to release would've fallen in here too but at this point I just expect it with SEGA) and I can't see any way this game is worth what's being asked sadly.

If you don't mind those issues, I'd say the game's overall better than the Advance trilogy, but that's a pretty low bar all things considered. A good time but not a great one, I probably won't come back to it after getting the achievements. Hopefully next attempt is better.

A worthy sequel to one of my favorite games of all time. If you at all enjoyed the first game, get this. It does everything the original did and more.

Super good game, we need more games where we just play as cats being cats. Little disappointed with the length though. I got about 4 hours of playtime from going through casually and doing a small handful of side stuff, while also getting lost for about 30 minutes of that. The graphic design for the game was amazing, and while I loved it I get the feeling it's the reason why the price is so high for such a short playtime. For $37 Canadian, I think that'll be a bit of a harder sell for most. Overall though it was just plain fun the whole way. If you're big on supporting indie devs or just *really* like cats, go ahead and buy it at full price if you can. Otherwise I'd wait for a 25% off sale at least.

Saw this back in a Nintendo Direct last year, and I thought it looked neat but didn't give it much thought past that. Then the demo came out back in February for Steam Next Fest and I gave it a go. Clicked with me, but I never played past the tutorial levels or interacted with the VN stuff. Came around now that it's out and loved every second of it, 100%ing everything as I went. Got into the groove of beating a level for the first time, rerunning it to get the Ace Medals, and then hunting for that level's collectible. Never once got dull, and there were only 2 levels I ever got stuck on and frustrated with, though that was because of me going for all the gifts. According to the in game stats and the achievements tab on Steam, I've still got some things to find in this game yet. Least I know I've got a decent postgame to keep me going!

I think the best way I could describe Revita is that it's the FEZ of rougelikes. Super solid gameplay and really enjoyable at a surface level, but has tons to discover for those who wanna look deeper into the game's secrets and do everything.

I'd call it the new standard for Rogue Likes but then no one would be able to live up to that standard.

spelunky 2: moon

It's UNO, but be ready to deal with crashing and poor online matchmaking. It works enough to be enjoyable, but not by much.

It's the perfect kind of difficult. Give it a shot at least once.
