Would like to add an edit to this review to tell you to vote for this game for Steam's game of the year! If you feel like another game you love deserves GOTY, at least vote for this game for the best soundtrack! What a beautiful beautiful game and i'm glad i played it.

*Before i start this review (I'm not quite sure if it'll be lengthy or very short) I want to implore that you play the game blind; but, i will try to keep the review spoiler-free. It is honestly and truly one of my favourite games and not playing the game blind could take away a lot of eureka moments for you as the game is based entirely around your knowledge of it's story.*

I would also like to mention that i have played on another platform, so 15 hours (at the time of this review) may not be accurate to your playtime (especially considering Outer Wilds game length heavily depends on the person playing it, maybe average of 25 - 30 hours) as I've just bought the game again on steam to achievement hunt and because i truly love the game that much even though i can never play it again.

Outer Wilds is a gorgeous space exploration game with an incredibly deep story and a beautifully fitting soundtrack that has quickly made it to the top of the list of my favourite games.

You're given a very small solar system and very small planets yet an absolute ton of personality to go with every single one of them. By exploring one planet you'll learn more about another, which will lead you to another, which may lead you back to the planet you were on to discover an area you never knew how to get into before. You solve puzzles and learn secret entrances to enter areas and unlock more information about the solar system and what your goal is.
It captures that feeling of true exploration and the want to learn more about what's around you. You're not guided through the story, you explore and find it.
There are no upgrades to your ship or your fuel or any extra tools that you gain along the way, the only thing you unlock is knowledge, which is used to piece everything together and understand what is happening around you.

It's genuinely quite hard to write a review about Outer Wilds without potentially ruining some of the best parts of it or just saying "Play the game now" or just "It's a mystery game". How do i recommend this game to someone without ruining some of their experience with it? I'm not too sure to be quite honest.
All i can say is that it's a wonderful once in a lifetime experience that will leave you with a deep moon crater crashed into your heart, knowing you can not experience those moments of "So THAT'S how that is?" and "Oh." again, but that crater will be filled with absolute wonder and passion for the fact you got to experience those moments.

You decide to pull out your signalscope again and listen to the instruments, and feel nostalgic for something that you havn't even discovered yet.
