mostly solid game-play

all extra abilities are useful and unique (the grapple shot into aerial mount is satisfying)

weapons are for the most part well done and useful in their purposes ex the hydra being good at anti-air and light vehicle but not against people, one of the exceptions being the bulldog shotgun taking 3 shots to kill at point blank and 4-5 at 3 feet away with its slow fire rate will get you killed if they have any sort of ability to aim or if you don't catch them completely off guard.
(side note not the games fault but the fire rate on the pistol is as fast as you click and it seems people have bound it to scroll wheels and it fires as fast as the assault rifle and does triple the damage)

melee is a mixed bag at best, with the pull into melee if you are close enough not working half the time, to damage just not registering, and the best of turning you 90 degrees to the left or right to punch someone not even on your screen

damage registration being non-existent at times with hit-markers appearing with no damage done, this is always fun when you are shooting someone running away getting markers and their shields start recharging

maps are solid and don't feel bias one side or another,

game modes for beta are limited and you are unable to pick which modes you want but are solid classics

BTB domination can be unfair at times as all 3 points (randomly chosen) can be placed essentially beside your or the enemy spawn

vehicles are balanced for the most part for example a single wasp will be annoying and if you dont deal with it can cause you to lose, but are (With the right weapons) fairly easy to take down these weapons being available in drops or at special spawns on the maps

cosmetics only being available on certain armours is odd especially when it is a colour scheme, and not say a helmet or chest piece (which in itself is arguable but has good points either side)

still a beta with time to iron out the problems
7.5/10 still needs work but has a solid base

this game had a lot of potential, an initially interesting story, mostly interesting supporting characters, nice gun-play and unique abilities that are all useful, a clearly differentiated class system, somewhat repetitive side quests but they weren't shoved down your throat meaning that you could easily go most of an area before getting one.

for the most part this is a mediocre game,

- some npc interactions feel like they are actual people, quest givers sometimes had interesting stories apart from the repetitive quests of go there, shoot, pick up thing.

- the story at first is involving adventure of old friends going out to find a safe haven for humanity apart from the war torn and ravaged valley... that devolves into heavy handed symbolism for "colonialism bad".

-the writing is mostly passable, good in some parts, but can also sound like a comedy movie riffing on overly emotional scenes with horrendous writing. credit to the voice actors they tried their best with it. but i don't think even Mark Hamill could have made it sound convincing

- bosses are nothing more than bullet sponges that do 3 basic attacks, then do them more often sometimes throwing in a 4th as you get them into a different stage

i want this game to be good, it has everything it needs to be good, but it has what i'm gonna call "destiny syndrome" where parts of the game that start to get good, or are highly interesting stop very soon after you first encounter them, and ( i wouldn't count this as a spoiler but some people might) never appear again until the end credits as if to say " ha ha look at this possibly good part of the game that we will add as DLC"

5.5/10 a lot of potential, mediocre story, good game play, implemented horribly

its good, some asshats will leave when they dont get impostor though, dont be like them

IF YOU ANSWERED YES to any of these buy this game and clean the galaxy of filthy xenos
(P.S) online is dead but you dont need it

this game (for a beta) is amasing although it still needs a bit more content, smoother controlls and story and a bit more intelegent AI wouldnt hurt. it has soo much potential to be a great game just needs a little more work 8/10

one of the best 2-D games i have amazing game play, references easter eggs galore 10/10 game very recomended.
