Relaxing and cute game except for the part where the animals look like my sleep paralysis demons.

Early Access Review
Craftopia is still very early access, but I think the current extreme amount of jank has it's charms.

The engrish translations are hilarious to read and sometimes misleading, the objects in this game look like assets from many different places, some hyperrealistic and then cartoonish, combat is unwieldy but it's great fun to be able to explore the world and build with friends. The game doesn't give you many rules, and you can almost exploit everything you come across.

Right now the features are pretty limited and many of the areas, objects, bosses and skills seen in the trailer aren't available in the game yet. But I got plenty of hours out of it despite it being a very early build. I highly suggest bringing a friend along!

This game is not worth the 60 quid.

We already know it's buggy as hell, and doesn't run on lower end computers despite them meeting the recommended requirements. Everyone's already talked about that. But besides that, the game doesn't look as great as promised either. This game sells itself by promoting the world, their fashion, their culture, but not much of it is coming through. The tattoos in the character creator look like gas station gum temporary tattoos, or someones first venture into photoshop. The piercings are just balls slapped on your face, some drooping depending on your facial features. The world is a jarring mix of low poly mesh low res texture objects next to literally super high 60k poly high res objects right next to eachother, some looking like free assets off of sketchfab or unity assets that they forgot to replace in their decade long journey. On max settings the streets are filled with crowds of twins or triplets, most of the npcs dress like fashion and complementing colours don't exist and cycle through the same maybe 10 outfits in each area... I don't see the point in making trailers of how many cool fashion styles there are if you gotta dress like a flamboyant hobo to have a decent armour rating.

While I appreciate CDPRs daring nature of trying to make a futuristic high-detail world, it seems that they wanted to accomplish both being accessible, releasing it on prev gen consoles and having low recommended requirements, as well as having a next-gen, amazing looking world, and then ultimately failing at both. It's not unbearably horrible, it's just painfully mediocre, everything of it.
