This game is a great action-adventure game but it is really quiet not an RPG. It does not give you the choices that should matter. Many of the quests still give the same outcome even if if you said or did something different. CD Projekt RED did a great job with the story though, and their time modeling, writing, scripting, and playtesting is evident in the game. In my option, the glitches and issues that everyone is complaining about are due to the negligence of CDPR's upper management and their rush to release the game to satisfy the consumers and their own investors. I am still within the hope that this game can truly be a masterpiece once more updates are released along with DLC. They have many flaws, and I hope that they are working on them.

8/10

P.S.

For the record, I don't think they deserved the 200+ AWARDS they got, as it would seem that some of the reviewers either never saw the whole picture or were bribed. Also I feel dismayed at the sight of what happened with Xbox/Playstation consumers who "got the short end of the stick." They got screwed over, and I am semi-glad that at least CDPR has been trying to rectify this issue.

First off, this game is pretty great. It could be better but it seems like Crowbar Collective is working on some fixes so they are forgiven for now. Anyway, here is my pros and cons for this wonderful homage to the original Half-Life from 1998 (as an aside, Happy 21st birthday HL1!).

Pros :
• Great sound effects (firearms, alien weapons, etc)
• Great particle effects (gunsmoke, dust/particles in light beams, etc)
• Voice acting great (the actors used sound very much like the original)
• Animations (really nice when compared to orignal)
• Music/OST (the composition sounds amazingly like the original)

Cons:
• Glitches (mostly buffer crashes or bad rendering)
• Rendering (the surface scattering on many of the objects in the game, especially xen could use work)
• Bullet-spongy enemies (Developers did discuss making enemies weaker)
• Annoying save zones/gates (saves you in the middle of being mortally wounded)

These were my main topics, but I'm confidant that once its out of beta, it will be a polished and highly criticized game. Good work Crowbar Collective thus far! I can't wait to see what's next!

P.S.

I am using the Black Mesa [public-beta] for future reference, so I do have a few more bugs than those who are not using the same version as me.

This game has come along way since my last review. Crowbar Collective has since added in offical workshop support, resulting in numerous mods, some of which have become essential to my playthroughs. They fixed nearly every bug, resulting in a very stable game with only minor bugs that are usually related to the rendering of the game as that is processed by the CPU. I would certainly say this has become of the best games of the last decade and I can't wait to see what else CC develops. It would be interesting to see if they get permission to remake other Half-Life games into high quality.

Metro Exodus is one of the best AAA titles that I've played in a while. While it shines on customization and some free roam, it fails to make it truely open world. Most levels are huge and cant be traversed in one whole in-game day, and as such, the play er needs to find shelter or go make the long trek back to base camp. This isn't too bad, seeing as one can normally find a workbench and some supplies with these shelters.

PROS:
  • Beautiful rendering
  • Nice guns and customization of Arytom's gear
  • Great storytelling
  • immersive animations and cutscreens. Feels more like a movie than a video game.

CONS:
  • Still many rendering glitches, but hopefully will get patched.
  • Stealth is irritatingly slow, and animations for turning out lights can be cumbersome
  • Some animation clipping, like with drinking close to NPCs or climbing up a ladder through a narrow opening
  • Not a game for true beginners of FPS's

Early Access Review
This game is very immersive. It requires you to eat and drink constantly. You must also make shelter, craft weapons and armor. It also has a really good co-op that allows you to build and share items with friends. It is definately worth the $15 price tag. It also has alot of lore to discover as well.

Note: I don't do this alot for really any game. It is rare that I would post this at all.

It's like GTA V but with lots of hacking and parkour. You can customize your clothing and weapons, as well as get some sweet rides (vehicles) as well. You also have a GTA like cell phone as well, that act's like Fallout's pip-boy, esentially making it a world interface.

Full of noobs who like to mass troll and cause chaos. Very fun if you like many game modes and numerous addons.

Half Life 2 was a great game. Great mechanics, smooth player movement, and great battles with the NPCs. I would recommend this if you like first-person shooters.
