Pretty Chill, from a city planning an engineering point of view.

A Short, Quaint little puzzle game.

Great for fans of Lego.

The lighting and style of the game are enjoyable too,

A good game to relax with.

If I were to buy it again however, I'd consider waiting for a Steam Sale and a reasonable discount.

I bought this game in the Summer 2020 sale (Half Price, around £19.00).

The setting (Plague-ravaged Valois, France in the 14th century) and atmosphere is excellent.
The characters, and their initial setup (giving them plenty of room for character development) is very well crafted.
The gameplay mechanics are mostly good, mostly.
The elements of horror in the game are decent.
There are slower moments and chapters, and that really adds to the game.
Getting through levels, solving scenarios of stealth and puzzles etc. feels satisfying, it makes the player feel good.
Equipment, tools to use and upgrades for these develop and progress as new scenarios and enemies are encountered, and it means no chapter (for most of the game) feels too easy nor too difficult, it's always decently challenging (this is likely why it feels rather rewarding).

However (without spoilers), I felt the further you get into the game the less puzzle/stealth (and subsequently feeling satisfied and good by getting through levels) the player experiences.
Additionally, it all gets a bit resident evil at the end which can be somewhat jarring (there's a divine/supernatural element to the story from the start, but its not overly egregious at first).
Some of the Boss fights are a tad odd, too.
Lastly, my mouse simultaneously felt too slow and too sensitive (but there's an aim assist anyways which mostly negates that). This is the first game I've had that weirdness occur.

Overall, I'd give the game about a 6/10.
If i were breaking the game down, the first 66% of the game would probably be about a 8,9 or 10/10.
The latter 33% of the game would probably be about a 3,4,5/10.

As someone who usually plays games of the "Find Them, Shoot Them, Kill Them" variety, Eastshade is a drastic change of pace, tone and atmosphere with a brilliantly simple concept (You're a travelling painter).

The game boasts a gorgeous setting, a plethora of wholesome side-quests and a fantastic musical score (see the Japanese-style plucking soundtrack bit in certain areas of the main City, Nava).

I found myself spending time to line up my canvas and to capture exactly what I wanted to paint (and fantastically, you can export them into your files, each painting in-game can be saved this way and they don't duplicate and clog up space every time you hit the export button, either).

There are the occasional bug or two (the main bug i encountered was in the city of Nava, a street musician's song would loudly break in through the usual soundtrack and the game would shudder then freeze).

Another potential con is the lack of Wooden Boards (a vital part in crafting of painting canvases) but this isn't so much of an issue later on, but starting out i did feel like I wasn't painting what I wanted as I was being conservative of my canvases which I was painting on to give/sell to NPCs.
If you have a decent source of income (A guy who buys your tat for 1 Glowstone, or Artist commissions) you can purchase Canvases and save yourself the trouble of crafting them (Though I personally would try and craft at least 15, for the achievement).

One thing I wish i knew before playing the game would be to save just before placing any Raft or Reed Boat. As these items are slightly more mid to late game depending on the whim of your exploration, this may be confusing advice but should eventually make sense.

In Summary, I highly recommend Eastshade to anyone, it's perfect escapism and the ending is truly special (though I can't say anything more about that, it's best you see for yourself).

Building on improvements from the previous games in the franchise, Sniper Elite 4 is the best it could possibly be. With gorgeous locales and a wealth of weapon upgrades, equipment and challenges, the game can see you running around the same huge map in a number of different ways. The story is fantastic too, and as you expect from this franchise by now, Karl Fairburne is a badass.

9/10.

This game is best described with three words. "Weird Sh*t Happens..."

And i'm not referring to the usual insanity of a Far Cry title, or the drug trip missions, or the random encounters with people or animals, or both.

For example, vaulting over a rock about half the size of the player, then dying from fall damage.
That kinda weird stuff.

I enjoyed the hunting, as with any far cry, there's plenty to do, and the landscapes are both interesting and breathtaking.

It's a decent game, however I personally feel that if you want a fun Far Cry game to throw your hours into and experience and enjoy, you should buy Far Cry 3.

You may have read this review and question my reccomendation, I'd say its a good game, worthy of a positive rating, but Far Cry 3 feels better in my opinion.

Going into this game I knew it would be a hardcore shooter, something i'm not used to, something that will have a learning curve Etc.

What I didn't realise is that the learning curve is learning how to kill an enemy player with the net code of the game.

Many many deaths are caused by seeing an enemy first, shooting the enemy first, hitting the enemy first, then he turning around and killing you. Or your bullets despawning in a situation that should have been a kill trade.

The sad thing about this review is I really enjoy this game, at times its very very fun and good to play, however I cannot give it a good rating until the netcode issues and other bugs (such as invisible collision boxes not being lined up with corresponding visible walls).

If you want a fun vietnam war era game that isnt infuriating, then I suggest you pray, hope, wait until this gets fixed and polished a bit more OR you purchase yourself Battlefield Bad Company 2, and its vietnam DLC (or get the original Battlefield vietnam from 2004, its old but has a good soundtrack).

Hope this review advises and warns potential new players of the game.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 is one of the best battlefield games ever made. Even after 6, almost 7 years (as of time of writing this review) the game still has a community, and multiplayer servers can be found. The game runs on the frostbite engine but an iteration where almost everything was completely destructible. As for the games other advantages as a product it has a phenominally good DLC that changes the era and setting, a solid campaign with humorous characters and it's a battlefield title that is on steam, not origin (however EA Online is required to play online etc.).
