"Music is the rhythm of the soul"

An absolute rollercoaster, the mechanics never get old, and many of the tracks are not only insanely catchy and addictive, but also full of emotion, complimented even further by the majority of the characters actively dancing their own theme.

There are many who would compare this game to Undertale, and yes... it has some striking similarities, I might even go so far as to say this could help tide over those of you waiting for Deltarune. The way music is used in Everhood has themes beautifully present characters and their personalities, compared to Undertale's more story-centric music.

Complimenting the music are the visuals, I hope you like psychedelic visuals, and I REALLY hope you don't have epilepsy. That being said the visuals are absolutely gorgeous, and done through all kinds of visual manipulation that no doubt took countless hours to pull off. If you're familiar with certain... substance fueled dreams you'll be right at home here.

The story of EverHood is one... I'm not entirely sold on though, it might be its weakest point, but I'm aware many disagree with me there, so perhaps I missed something. Without giving spoilers, I felt like the music made me feel much more than the story itself ever did.

9/10 truly a gem, and one I have no issue recommending to most fans of story based/rhythm games.

Early Access Review
Really not for everybody, but this is far beyond your typical dungeon crawling-shooter. If you have the patience and curiosity for such a game, you'll find all kinds of things that will take you by surprise.

This is one of those games that has no story, except the one you make, but often times the story you make will end up being really great... until you die because you weren't keeping track of your dread cards and suddenly your character kills themselves. Still, a good game though.

There's a question you have to ask yourself whenever you make a game that's centered on strategy. How many viable options do I have, and how many fun options do I have? A lot of games fall apart because while plenty of options are fun, only one or two options are really viable, and you end up with a game that forces you to play it the same way every time if you want to win. This is somewhat unavoidable, "The Meta", is something that is present in pretty much every strategy game ever, some games let you deviate from it a little bit, while most inadvertently punish you for it.

Age of wonders 3 is nothing like this. every combination can be made viable, and there's plenty of options, both at creation and play to round off or enhance your build for the approach you want to take. Of course, there will always be combinations that either are too unbalanced, or too rounded, but even then, there will be moments where those combinations can pay off.

Edit: I've noticed a lot of the complaints directed towards this game have to do with it being too rush heavy, or too aggression oriented. or certain combinations just being outright bad, there's an easy fix to this.
the real issue isn't the game itself intrinsically, its the way its set up by default. Picking: dry-land, surface, and default victory conditions may lead to a fast game, but its by no means a balanced game. if you're willing to sacrifice speed for balance, try adding sub-terrean, continents, and one of the alternative victory conditions.

ugh... I can't belive this
this game is so good and yet... it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, the characters are all very unique, there's a wide variety of spells and enemies, branching paths and a lot of unique items to help you out along the way, good controls, good music... everything a good game needs...............

and yet, the game lacks limited continues... which I understand for many, isn't a real issue. But for me... its a problem, yes I'm aware there's "elimination mode" which only offers one continue, but thats sorta like removing a wart with amputation. Its a good game, but I just really wish there was a limited life setting, yes I know I can just CHOOSE to stop continuing after a certain point, but I don't really trust myself or my friends to do that...

Alot of time has gone by since I first made a serious review of this game, so I think, as it has made significant steps in the right direction, I should update my review of it.
Kingdom Wars 2 has all the makings of a classic, aswell as a few things that make it definately stand out, some things seem like poor choices... i don't know why there's a progression system in an RTS, or why its next to impossible to get any of the high level crafting objects, but those are just nitpicks, so lets tear into the game as a whole shall we? I'll be judging it as if it was a finished project so anything that ends up being ironed out when you read this may no longer be applicable.

The game features the standard 3 factions, a faction with expensive troops, a faction with tankish troops, and a faction with cheap troops, however each faction works in very unique ways such as how they gather their resources and how they build their armies, which is a neat thing to see in an RTS.

Kingdom wars 2 is also the first RTS I've seen to feature zombification as a mechanic, and its more or less clunky, it really just makes sieges more of a hassle and slows the game down, but it has its high moments, there's a lot tension when a massive army of your troops or an enemy's army has been defeated near something important, and you need to clear the area of corpses before either: your enemy arrives again or the sun sets.

The strategy side of this game seems fairly weak, sad to say, this hasn't changed at all in the past year, no doubt this is because the community for this game is fairly small, and the armies themselves aren't balanced ESPECIALLY orcs. The people who play this game regularly seem to play it exclusively for the survival mode, which is kinda a shame for me.

I'm happy to see the majority of glitchs have been ironed out, and the remaining lag is probably just the fault of my own computer or internet, i'm not sure.

This game is still not finished, though it is finally ready for release, I suppose. The units are grossly unbalanced, but and the devs do seem very invested in the community around this game, so I'm actually going to go ahead and recommend you support them still.

first of all, i should state that this is not a game, the results of every choice are pretty obvious, and there's no skill or strategy required, but that doesn't mean The Cat Lady isn't worth your money.
The writing is pretentious, dark, emotional, and often times over the top... and I love every second of it.
I'd argue its a visual novel and the story is the only reason anyone should buy it.
the art work isn't stellar, but its theme is good, and genuinely creepy.
the music feels out of place in the montages, rock just does not meld with macabre horror.
without giving any spoilers, its a dark tale of facing through real life, dealing with depression, suicide, guilt, hate, jealousy, revenge, and a cornicopia of negative human emotions. The story at times can be a real tear jerker, and the characters (for the most part) are very relateble, or at the very least feel human (parasites not included). There's potential for multiple endings, but seeing as I got the best ending on my first try, i'm not really inclined to go through it again.
If you'd like a piece of work that may make you cry, i'd strongly suggest picking up a copy of the cat lady.
i give this "game" a 7/10

As the only person in my friends list to have purchased this game, I feel its only fair to leave a review,
Miasmata is essentially a realistic survival horror (minus the need for food)
Your goal is to find various plants and combine them to make a medicine that will cure you of your disease, its sort of like a more complex form of slender
To my knowledge, there are no monsters, no people, no ghosts or anything supernatural, just wild animals and one in particular that wants to kill you.
Miasmata does not go out of its way to scare you, but I feel this works more in its favor then against it. The fear comes from concepts that are very real and very obvious, you can die in the wilderness, or get lost.

there are scraps of a map scattered throughout the game, but there is no pointer that shows where on the map you are, so i suggest relying on bodies of water and your compass to tell you where you are and which way you need to go.

TL;DR
more of an amnesia style of horror, except with no monsters and its in the wild, is it worth 15 dollars? Probably not, but they do seem like they put a lot of work and originality behind it, so i'd suggest either wait for a sale or pay them the full 15 to show your support.

DO NOT BUY JUST ONE COPY OF THIS GAME.
let me make something very clear, this is a co-op only game, now there may be a single player mode, but don't let that fool you, this is a team game, and it is only worth playing with friends. That being said, if you have friends to play with, this game can be a blast, there's a real sense of urgency as you and your freinds race to defeat the monsters base before they destroy your home town, think Diablo, but you don't have infinite time. the most impressive feature of this game though, is the class mixing, and how it seems to stay largely balanced, my personal favorite is the necromancer, but there's a lot to pick from. That being said this game is far from perfect, its greatest flaw is easily its lack of any sense of progression, sure, you may feel accomplished when you beat the boss and have saved the town, but that quickly means nothing as you move to the next one, as if everything before never happened. The game lacks a proper build up, or a "100 floors mode"
another thing DO NOT BUY THIS GAME THINKING YOU CAN FIND OTHER PEOPLE WHO OWN IT
this game is highly under rated, and you're not gonna find a lot of active games of it... thats just a sad truth, i've heard its sequal zombasite is doing pretty well, but until then your best bet would be to buy about 4 copies when its on sale or get your freinds to buy a copy of it too.
The DLC is pretty limited, sure it adds a lot of new enemies, but they all kinda melt into a blur anyways, the new class is neat, but adding just one new class for half the price of the original game really isn't worth it. if you're going to buy the game with the DLC, get zombasite instead of this. it includes the class and an extra one for free.
