Year by year the game's developers - Digital Extremes are effectively becoming more and more anti-playerbase.
They claim they want to "lower the grind" while they still keep doing the exact opposite. There are people in the development team who actively show toxic behavior towards their own playerbase, yet they're either punished very lightly or not at all.

In their partner program, there are people who break the rules and aren't punished, but when someone speaks out against the developers, or criticizes them, they get punished. The banning policy is very unfair towards the player, as there is either no ban or ban forever (ehm sorry I meant until 2035). People who utilize game mechanics correctly and let's say - achieve a good score on an endless mission (for ex. solo 70 rounds on an interception mission) can get banned for "suspicious activity". A lot of players got banned because the developers failed to introduce an "event ticket holder exclusive location" correctly. Some people are still banned to this day.

There is a huge content hole after a certain point, which makes many "veteran" players burn out and either abandon the game forever or come back only when a major update is deployed (still, an actual "veteran" will deal with the new content in 1-2 weeks and then he/she won't have many things to do in the game).

The game's official forums are filled with censorship, basically any major criticism of the devs' actions can result in a warning point. After obtaining 3-4 warning points you will be put under moderator observation, if you obtain even more points you can even get permanently banned from the forums (as I said earlier, you don't even have to be harassing someone, simply criticizing the developers can lead to that).

The game used to be good earlier, but with the company's current focus on cinematic quests, and not regular content (let's say: Tactical Alerts/Operations and so on) in my opinion: the game is currently in denial and will stay in this state until the developers stop spending so many development resources and time on a cinematic quest that takes 1.5-2h to complete.
