Early Access Review
It's been year and a half since the last enemy update. WE NEED MORE THAN A FEW BOSSES! It's going to be 3 years since its initial release soon and the amount of updates given by the developers is waaaay too short. At times I feels the devs just forgot about finishing the game and got away with a $30 price tag. Don't buy unless it's on a sale or if there's an update with more enemies because you can probably finish this game in one sitting.

Objection! I will proceed to defend this game.
"The fighting mechanics are way to challenging" Yes they are, but let me ask you something. Have you ever grabbed an axe and fought a demonic being while using your phone? Do you know how heavy axes are for highschool girls? Rest my case.
It is challenging but I liked the challenge.

The game follows a similar easter egg hunting from the Batman Arkham games. This game is FULL of creppy easter eggs. You are tasked to travel areas and find urban legends, and these aren't part of the main story. You use your phone and take creepy pictures to unlock ghost stories, like Batman unlocking Riddler trophies.

The locations are fantastic and haunting! However, they're not very extensive, meaning that you only spend 30 to 40 min on each location. However, there's always a hidden easter egg on each location waiting to be found.

The monsters are AMAZING, I wasn't expecting this amount of monsters or quality. However, some of them wouldn't contribute a lot to the story, meaning that they were just there just for the sake of being scary or just because they were part of an urban legend or myth.

The story...the story sucks tho. I don't see a reason for this story to exist other than to tie up the events of the first game a bit. Which could've been just a small dlc. I ended up laughing at the ending thinking it was a joke, but it really wasn't...Don't play the game for the story.

TLDR: Great Horror game with immersive easter egg hunting but the story sucks. It's worth every penny if you don't play it for the story.

This game had so much potential it just hurts. Do not buy unless the developers release a DLC. Why?

The game can be completed in 3.5 hours, but I spent 7 because I kept exploring the map, excited so see ANYTHING. I fell in love with the map, but the story it's just bland and disappointing. The writing is the main flaw of this game. The game tries so hard to make you think it's heavily deep and involved with the topic of "Suicide", however, the way it's being used in the end comes off as cheap and even insulting. However, this is not as nearly as insulting as how the game slightly tries to romanticize pedophilia. I blame the writer and the director for their lack of vision and cheap tactics and because of that, the ending is just confusing and again, disappointing. The characters are unlikable as we spend an unreasonable amount of time making the protagonist sound strong and brave instead of working on the story itself.

However, I encourage you to wait for a DLC. Why? The hotel is just gorgeous....

Again, the story does NOT live up to the map. The writing does NOT live up to the hotel. I honestly feel bad for the graphic artists who had to create this gorgeous map filled with beautiful rooms and interesting settings....just to they could end up working on this story. The biggest sin of this game is that the story doesn't use most of the rooms of the hotel. There are so many unused rooms I swear I'm thinking on going back and play just to see if there's a hidden story somewhere. I want to believe there's a reason why 90% of this hotel is fully unlocked but not used. If the developers were to release a DLC I'd buy it, but only if they hired another director...
