Early Access Review
Surprisingly polished for a game that likely hasn't been in development for longer than 6 months. Game runs incredibly smoothly on Android - even on max graphic settings.

Gameplay is better than DAC with probably more balance right now and also more heroes. Its also easy to get into if you play with friends.

Fantastic expansion to the game that adds some new core mechanics. Climate change can be devastating and powerful but can also be mitigated completely if attention is paid to it. Canada finally being playable in Civ is amazing, I just wish I got tundra starts more often!

Highly recommended. Better than Civ 5.

I love the Harvest Moon (Story of Seasons now) series and this feels like a true successor to them. Its honestly such an amazing game and will definitely eat up my time until Animal Crossing is released this year.

The game is incredibly complex and despite the randomness, obviously requires skill. While others will say that it's pay2win, that isn't really the case. I received the game for free but assume $20 for that. With the exception of a couple of cards, you can get everything else for under $10, completely reasonable. If you know what you want, (like me) you can spend as little a few dollars. The market at release is a little volatile with some cards overpriced, expect that to change.

Overall, the game is a TRADING card game and a damn good one at that. The game actually rewards good players who know what they're doing. Pick up this game, it's worth it even if you're not a Dota fan.

I love casually playing Audiosurf 2 while listening to music. Unfortunately they removed youtube streaming. It's a great game but for someone like me who has all their music online, it doesn't work anymore.

I will update this if they re-enable streaming.

Its hard to compare the base game of Civ VI to the current Civ V. Civ V has had many expansions and is now an amazing game with great depth. With a new version of Civ, they have a new base to start from. By itself its pretty good but add in Rise and Fall and it's way better than Civ V.

Base game: 7.5/10
With Rise and Fall: 9/10

Below the line is my old review. It's been over a year since then so I will be adding further detail.

Cities: Skylines is a phenomenal game. The reason for this is simple, Mods. The mods for this game make it infinitly better than what Collsal Order has provided. Even then, CO has provided a solid platform to create whatever you want. I am now approaching 1000 mods installed in my game and the game takes 5+ mins to load a save. My FPS runs smoothly at 15 fps and 500,000 people in my city.

The performace may not be perfect but I love the game too much to let that hinder my experience.

When you first get the game, play it for a couple hours, figure out how everything works. Following that, go to the workshop and download whatever you think needs to be changed/enhanced in the game. There are so many options out there for you to download.

PROS:

- MODS
- Map Size
- Extensive road management especially with mods
- Extensive traffic control with especially with mods.
- Large community
- Customizable Difficulty with Mods
- Many free updates and not required paid DLC
- Devs that communicate

CONS:

- (FIXED WITH MODS) Lack of bridge styles
- (FIXED WITH MODS) Lack of building styles
- (FIXED WITH MODS) Awkward park system; only way to make custom parks is via the asset editor
- Money made almost always is greater than money used
- No multiplayer
- Poor performance with larger cities and more mods

I would have to give the game a 10 now. The mods fix almost everything and what is not fixed is excusable.

10/10 - June 23, 2016

Tl;dr: I've played over 30 hours since it came out (5 days ago)

So. I like my city builders. And although Simcity 2013 had its flaws, it had many good things. For example, city specialization are good and graphics are really nice (except for the intersections.) All in all, Simcity 2013 is a great game with two major downfalls, traffic and map size.

On to Cities: Skylines. Traffic has been vastly improved on and map size is literally 9x that of Simcity; 25x with mods. Rather than paragraph form the good ♥♥♥♥ and bad ♥♥♥♥, here is a fancy list.

PROS:

- Map Size
- Road System
- Many building sizes
- Better zoning system than Simcity.
- Transit control
- Difficulty. Getting a perfectly balanced city without issues is near impossible so lots of content.
- As mentioned, lots of replay value.
- Large community
- Steam Workshop

CONS:

- Lack of bridge styles
- Lack of building styles
- Awkward park system; only way to make custom parks is via the asset editor (I think that's what it is called.)
- Money made almost always is greater than money used.
- No multiplayer (as of writing this. Maybe they'll add it?)

Overall, 9.8/10 - March 2015

As what everyone else has said, it's the game Simcity 2013 should've been and more. Had a great community and a great developer. Also, its on steam.

I'll be honest here. I was not too excited when they announced Civ: BE. It took a long time for me to get interested in pre-ordering it, and even then, I pre-ordered only because I had a discount. I've been a long time fan of the Civilization series and sadly, this game is currently the lowest on the standing.

I still recommend it, though. Although the game has many flaws, it has some nice concepts. The Tech Tree is what interested me the most but the fact that its all future tech, I didn't get the same kind of connection as if I was in Civ V. The history aspect allows me to relate which makes the Civilization series such a great series.

Pros:
- Nice Graphics.
- Tech Web.
- Good Old Civ Mechanics.
- Quest system.

Cons:
- Feels like a Civ V reskin.
- Poor grammar. Related to the point above.
- Lack of Civilizations.
- Same crappy multiplayer system.
- Unrelateable scenarios.

If I was to summarize Civ: BE in one sentence, it would be... "A reskinned Civ V that doesn't always work."

6/10
