I have such mixed feelings about this game.

On one hand, you have 3 people making a game that to a lot of people competes with games like BattIefield. The gunplay is satisfying, the level of depth in the game is surprising, and the openness of the communication (Proximity VOIP, squad comms, etc) is very refreshing in an era where game developers are slowly removing communication between players.

On the other hand, this game was made by three people and unfortunately it DOES show. The sound design is really bad. It's very hard to hear enemies and differentiate sounds. The simple graphics make it hard to spot enemies against backdrops. The ingame UI is well designed but the menu UI leaves a lot to be desired.

The gameplay is chaotic, which a lot of people like but ultimately there are things that don't pair well with this. For example, every time you take a hit, you must stop and bandage or you'll die. This has no place in a game like Battlebit. Secondly, the overall Chaos of the game, paired with bad sound design and lackluster graphics makes it challenging at times to actually know what's going on. It can get pretty clusterf--ky.

Additionally, the game makes you agree that the developers can record ALL of your voice chats. Although, I'm sure many popular game studios do this, at least these guys are upfront about it. I do see a lot of people being banned for "Discrimination" - and I doubt this team of 3 people has resources to manually review reports, so I'm guessing if you get a lot of reports you just get instantly banned for a period of time. This seems dangerous and I'd like more insight from the developers about how the moderation system works and if it's being abused.

Honestly, I see this game as a demonstration that games CAN be fun in 2023, and it's hilarious seeing this have a higher playercount than BF2042. However, I don't think that this game is anything more than a Fad unless they get serious resources pushed into it.

They ruined the simple fun of this game. The UI really sucks and is obviously built for smartphones. Having to navigate into a bunch of different menus in order to unlock upgrades is just boring. Also, P2W.

The UI is sloppy, overwhelming and unintuitive. The combat system has zero ounces of fun in it. Click on zombie to bash with hammer, do that 7 more times, it does nothing and zombie bites you and you die. The end.

Boring and unengaging story. Would make more sense if main character/main character homeworld was human.

The flagship of the entire UNSC is going down in a non-playable cutscene you'll experience for 30 seconds!

Nu-Cortana just makes puns, snaps her fingers, and looks like she's had a stroke all game.

No UNSC in entire game besides some marines you find - which don't do anything besides die or get left behind.

Vehicles completely worthless due to grapple hook being fastest method of travel.

Because of Chief's new maneuverability, most boss fights have to be made hard with the use of instakill/aimbot mechanics.

Controlling sections of ring doesn't do anything useful for you - as fast travel isn't needed at all.

Enemy dialogue feels like it's out of a children's cartoon: "Die, hero!" "What's the banished WiFi password?" "Defeat the hero!" "Me throw boom boom at you!" (These are actual quotes within the game).

Entire campaign is visually the same. Reach (2010) had Metropolitan, Beachside, Desert, Space, and Forest levels.

No cutscenes in the entire game besides the infinity going down. (Chief talking to Pilot doesn't count.)

New major character revealed, teases a new species being released, which never happens, and is never explained because she dies 30 seconds later.

Cortana destroys the banished homeworld, the entire UNSC, countless Spartans, but none of it is shown to us (besides little holograms.)

Pilot completely forgets he has a family at the end. When asked if he has anyone of his own, he says "No."

Entire campaign feels pointless. In Halo 3, you're fighting to save Cortana. In Halo Reach, you're fighting to save humanity. In Halo Infinite, you're fighting to take back a couple miles of a Halo Ring from an evil monkey.

I came back and gave it another chance. It still runs very poorly even on my PC which has a 7800x3D and a 3080 with 32GB of DDR5 RAM.

A lot of the added content is just weird. A lot of the armor sets don't fit into the canon, look very strange, or are basically the same thing just slightly redone. The new music and gamemodes are nice, but ultimately my PC just can't run this game for some reason.

I can't say that it's improved at all.
