New Player Review:
---------------------

I want to start off by saying I don't understand the hate towards this game. I can understand gripes and annoyances but not the amount of downvotes it has recieved.

What is this game?
---------------------
This is essentially a HARDCORE mmo that at points doesn't feel like an mmo. The combat mechanics do, sure. But it is more a kin to ultra hard RPG titles.

There's no hand holding or babysitting. There's things I would have never figured out if it wasn't for another player directly telling me.
This makes for interesting (albeit somewhat annoying) gameplay. Forge your own path, do whatever you please! Because nothing is going to tell you what you have to do.

The game has some similarities to Mortal Online aswell which I quite enjoy.

Conclusion:
---------------
I don't think I have enough hours to write an in depth solid review with various pro's and cons but I can give my current opinion.

If you are looking for a challenge, and I mean prepare to be tested mentally then pick this game up. The price tag is a bit steep from some aspects but there is no subscription fee involved. Get a few months gameplay out of it and you've got your moneys worth.

There is however currency that you can buy that means you can buy properties and various cosmetics (unfortunately this can be traded for in game currency giving a pay to progress apect to the game) - Atleast you can't buy the best weapon from the pay store but this is still a problem. I absolutely despise P2W but I understand the challenges devs face with it.

I am deep into this game and loving it. There's a lot of reading involved so be prepared for such but as someone who has never played EVE or Ultima (Games from the same creator) I am thoroughly enjoying this game!

Overall Rating:
---------------
7.5/10

Feels fresh, a change to the newer stale MMO's out there.
Give it a go! The average player is probably over 30 yrs of age, so very mature and helpful community!

Quick Disclaimer: This game isn't perfect. There are A LOT of bugs such as quests/terrain.

With that said, this game is beautiful. I have been waiting for something like this forever. No fantasy aspects just pure historic content with a realistic HEMA approach. Other people have stated that the combat with multiple opponents isn't great and I would have to agree, but from a realistic standpoint it is well done. You can't expect to duel when there are 3+ enemies, instead its a flailing mess with you just trying to stab/cut where you can. Incredibly hard to translate into a game so I am rewarding them for their effort.

I am probably going to be crucified for this, but games like The Witcher and Skyrim just haven't managed to captivate me like this game has. For all of you oldschool RPG people this game seems like it draws a lot from Fable: The Lost Chapters (which by the way is my favourite game of all time). Minus the fantasy elements and a different combat style the sub quests feel very similar and help build up the world around you, which was one of my favourite aspects. Even some of the music is very similar, flooding my head with thoughts of nostalgia which is a lovely touch.

Pro's:
-Innovative Combat that follows real historical weapon techniques.
-(Not completed) A gripping story in which you care for your character.
-Great throwback to legendary RPGS.
-Some fun sidequests that aren't overly tedious.
-Real sense of accomplishment after hard fights.
-No character limits (apart from the looks of your character) just like a true RPG should be.
-Beautiful scenery and graphics.
-Modding is available for the game.

Cons:
-A lot of visual bugs and bugs in general. (Entity clipping is horrendous, getting stuck on nearly everything when riding a horse).
-No difficulty change (I took out 30 guys on my own)
-^^^ Has the same problem as a few RPGS in which you become way too strong early on due to weapons/stats and just pommel everything in your way. THIS IS A MAJOR FLAW for me atleast. In a game about pure skill this really takes the immersion away for me.
-Some quests can be boring but it is a minority.
-Got sex off my chick and she dumped me.. (yet to be seen as I have not completed the game) but your main love interest ♥♥♥♥♥ you and never talks to you again. I am not one who usually cares about these things but it does take the immersion away.

Summary:

Overall this game is a masterpiece, revolutionary in its field. But it is not Perfect. The bugs need to be touched on, I would like them to add little changes in like the before mentioned love interest. Maybe touch up the combat system for multiple attackers (if possible). But I would still reccomend this game, giving it a solid 8.5/10.

I hope they continue to make content for the game in forms of DLC (Never thought I'd hear myself say that about games). Great potential, great execution and a big learning curve!

Early Access Review
For the amount of time this game has been out, it truly is incredible.

There are many points where the lack of optimization will drive you insane, but the parts that are smooth make it worth.

-Upon logging in you will notice a P2W model, this isn't really the case which is great.
-Similar to M&B in aspects but a unique new approach with currently what seems to be a big dynasty warriors influence also.
-There's many tree lines and tons of content until they bring out updates.

And the kicker... JOHN CENA ROMAN SUPERMAN THRUSTS WITH YOUR SWORD OUTTA NOWHERE. *Cough-Cough* I mean weapons have charge abilities.

Very little downsides to this game, and its totally free.
You'll be addicted before you know it.
10/10 recommended.

I thought that the game itself was really fun although i was surprised and dissapointed with the lack of personal combat. I am however severely annoyed that you only get about 2 hours of gameplay before it is over and you must wait for the next chapter, I will be furious if i have to pay another £5-10 for the next 2 hours gameplay as that is extortion. I knew the game would come in parts but for it to be so little time for what i have paid is appauling. Especially because now there is nothing else i can do, sure I can make different choices but the over all outcome will be the same.

If you do not want to waste your money and wait stupid times for a game then either don't buy it or wait for the future updates to be done.

If you have spare money to blow for a (good) game that has future potential then by all means buy it. I am just upset with the lack of playtime for the money i have paid.
